State of play at Accor as at 2:15pm:
- Level 4 east about 75% sold based on my estimate
-
General Admission - Opposition ticket allocation exhausted (or closed for sale)
- Level 6 west struggling to sell, unclear it was needed.
Weather in Sydney is clear and cool, but a little windy.
Crowds over 40,000 in the past decade in Sydney for a regular season game:
- 2023: ANZAC Day - Roosters vs Dragons (40,191 at Allianz Stadium)
- 2022: Roosters vs Rabbitohs (41,906 at opening of Allianz Stadium)
- 2018: ANZAC Day - Dragons vs Roosters (41,142 at old Allianz Stadium)
- 2017: ANZAC Day - Roosters vs Dragons (40,864 at old Allianz Stadium)
- 2015: Good Friday - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs (40,523 at Accor Stadium)
- 2014: Easter Monday - Eels vs Tigers (50,668 at Accor Stadium)
- 2014: Good Friday - Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs (43,255 at Accor Stadium)
- 2013: Rabbitohs vs Roosters (59,708, the record for a regular season game, at Accor Stadium)
- 2013: Good Friday - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs (51,686 at Accor Stadium)
I was hoping ticket sales might pick up a bit more momentum as the week progressed, but the lack of enthusiasm in level 6 suggests otherwise. I think the best outcome will be a crowd in the low 40ks, perhaps just enough to knock off last year's 41,906 at Allianz as the best attended regular season game in Sydney since 2014.
