Sideline will be vip, nrl corporates and stadium members
Nah that is how NRL sell them
@Wb1234 is correct. Most of the lower sideline seats are held for the Las Vegas Raiders club, Allegiant Members, and corporate travel packages. We will probably see some released in the coming months.

The Broncos bay has sold out already, and they've now opened up some top level sideline seats.

Same thing happened in the WCC. You couldn't buy the Western Grandstand Originally, 3 months later every Bay was available. Same will happen here

took longer then it should of. NRL holding back tickets is ftustrating

Happens with all sports and it shits me.
Sell the majority of cheaper tickets early, and then when supporters get desperate and realise tickets are selling quickly, then they release the more expensive tickets knowing people will pay the top dollar.
It's called greed.
Annoys me no end.
Just name a price for every category and put the whole lot on sale at once. It'll generally still sell out if the demand is there.

The NRL isn't holding these tickets back for the sake of holding them back. Trust me, the NRL, Ticketek and the venue want to sell everything as quickly as it possibly can.

For the Finals, tickets need to put on hold for NRL sponsors, club sponsors (who get at least the option to buy seats, if they aren't granted them), player & officials allocations, stadium members, other corporates, other third parties (like RL Experiences), promotions, and to handle any f#ck ups along the way.

I know from having to sell events, you get annoying things as well which see's things unintentionally put on hold for longer than wanted such as a stadium seats are noted as being broken and then it's discovered they are actually fixed, or Ticketek loads an old build. Sponsors all the time get to a few days before an event and then tell you they suddenly don't need half their allocation.

Throw in let you choose your seat as well.

Make it way harder than it should be

i know cause when you try and get grand tickets or origin and the best bays on the half way line are never available

In half a day?

I logged on in the 10am members release. Got reasonable seats. @Kilkenny got far worse then he was after.

Said limited availability or allocation exhausted for every category.

Then at 4pm ( For NRL.com members ) magically there is extra seats, how many people got the better seats thinking it was almost sold out?

So annoying

A lot can happen in half a day, especially when it's the first day of the week. The majority of those third parties I mention all work a standard working week, so the first time they know of their allocation and can start determining whether they'll take it, ask for extra or send some back, will be Monday morning.

It may have changed now, but to change the hold status of a bay on Ticketek, you have to take tickets off sale. Even if the NRL finds out at 10:15 that suddenly a bay can be released, they're not going to suddenly release it because it will kick everyone who is currently trying to buy seats off the system and going to give a bunch of people the impression that there are suddenly no tickets. If a game is a dud, and has a minimal people on the ticketing website, they may decide to run the gauntlet, but often they'd wait until the end of the member pre-sale window.

You then have Ticketek giving false impressions how well bays are selling based upon holds during rush periods. For a member on sale, you get a rush of people in the first hour, and a lot of people add the maximum number of tickets they can buy straight to their basket, even if they eventually buy less. Whilst those tickets are on hold, they are unsellable and can make a bay look like it is more depleted than it will be if you go back later.

Having tickets sold on systems that were built more than 40 years ago only exacerbate the issue and the frustrations that people see, not just for NRL events, but pretty much every major event that goes on sale in Australia.

Give sponsors et al a very clear buying window prior to public tickets going on sale. If they don't get their act together in time then stuff em. Release to public and they will learn next time to be more on the ball.

You know how much sponsors bring in ? Even at 300 bucks a ticket the nrl makes it’s money from corporates

Penrith v Roosters and Broncos v Warriors would be the best result crowd wise for the prelims
