I would defend that to the hilt. Finucane clearly lifts both arms to attempt a tackle.
It was all head clash and, as @Frenzy. said elsewhere, the majority of the damage looked to have been caused by Crighton's head slamming into the turf.

Then in SOO you’ve got Tino ripping guys heads off all game - and it was a classic Origin moment…..
