How wasn't Hynes charged like Walsh was for abuse? I don't mind Walsh being charged and suspended but any chance of an ounce of consistency?

I would suggest that the audio of what Hynes said may not have been in the same category as Walsh's or may have been inconclusive. Hynes' comments to the touch judge may not have been picked up by the microphones, Walsh's definitely were.

Disappointed.
I was hoping he'd plead not guilty to both and then get convicted.

We'd be rid of him for 5 weeks rather than just two.

Yeah, that wasn't good. Being held by two other players and he starts trying to rip his legoff. They made a big deal about protecting the players from the hip drop but that tackle was much worse.

Annesley has said that both audio and reports from the referee and touch judge were that it wasn't abuse, but merely whinging.

If players will be suspended for that, then Moses and Gutherino will never play again.

I hate the Sharks just as much as any dragons supporter does, but it was a shit decision and deserved to be called out.
It was a beautiful pass and that probably cost them the game.

Just to add to this, the Manly try right on half time, I was sure the last pass looked to float about 4 or 5 meters forward too!
That being said, the Sharks were shite, and deserved to lose, so I’m certainly not blowing up about it, or blaming the loss on poor officiating. The Sharks were soft and got what they deserved!

I take it you are aware that it is possible for a ball to float forward even when it is not passed forward by the player passing the ball? Not having a go at you, just curious.

I am indeed, but looked forward ‘out of the hand’ to me - I may be wrong, but those are the ones that you can understand a touchie getting wrong (where the ball has actually travelled forward) - the Hynes one physically went backwards.
As I say, nothing to do with the result, just a mere comment on officiating.

Haha. $3000 this time. He must have about 10+ offences in the past 12 months.
Five offences during 2022 (R5, R11, R20, R24, FW1)
Three prior to this week in 2023 (R15, R15, R20)

So, five in the last 12 months. The only one that attracted a suspension was the Finals Week 1 game which saw him miss some of the RLWC for NZ.

Is that specifically Grade 1 careless high tackles, or any charge? Sure seems to be more.

Don't know why roosters have re-signed him, probably better off without him.

Whoregraves is a prime example of why there needs to be a minimum 1 week for 3+ convictions in a season. Otherwise the grub will never change.
