Carrigan's hip didn't trap any part of NAS' body which is a crucial element of the tackle. That's why the MRC cleared the tackle and Annesley acknowledged it was a mistake. It also seemingly led to the end of the crackdown as the officials were far more forgiving moving forward.

If you look at the reverse angle of the Tuipulotu tackle, de Belin clearly contacts the leg and traps it with his body weight.

Certainly not the worst hip drop of the season, there wasn't a lot of force, but the injury to Tuipolotu has come into play.

NRL can’t win on this one, Sam Burgees would squirrel grip, high tackle full force, or late hit someone every other game. His terrible record saw a hair pull result in a suspension. Channel 9 run a massive justice for Sam campaign and here we have it you can offend 100 times a season and just get a fine every time if MRC is kind enough to give low gradings
