Last years preliminary final Souths led by 12 points early in the first half. Panthers put on 32 unanswered points to win by 20. So obviously it doesn't.

That's with 3 or 4 disallowed tries too. Panthers know they can weather opening onslaughts and get teams late. They don't panic because they're patient.

Exactly my point. It we are in touch after 20 minutes then it's nothing to worry about. It's very rare that other teams can maintain the rage longer than that. We still lose the odd one, but since the 2020 GF we havent lost a single game that matters.

It's nice to beat them, but if dropping a few games against them in the regular season means being ready for September, then they really don't matter.
