Some luck for Broncos but Walsh looked class I have to admit and ignited them.

Looks like they have a pretty easy early draw so they will surely push for top 4 this year, even with Walters as coach all that natural talent will make them a contender, as long as Reynolds and Walsh stay fit.

Was the luck the bit where Corey Oates had his jaw shattered? and the opposition only lost a player for 10 minutes?

There's no two ways about it. Drinkwater should not have played another minute of footy tonight. Soft from Klein.
A shoulder charge to the head should have been a straight send off. I don't think Drinkwater is a dirty player and I think his rep saved him. If jwh or flegler did it, they'd have been escorted from the field by the police

It’s an existential question for the game. Do I think it was a ‘bad’ shoulder charge? No, he stood there (feet planted) and braced for contact. But the reality is he made himself tall and hit Oates in the head (with enough force to break his jaw).

For me, he needed to be sent off. And if that means there is a send-off every other game, and there is a chance for a SOO or a GF to be ruined because Cleary, or Mitchell, or Munster or some other star or even a pleb hits another of his peers in the head and gets marched after 2 minutes, surely that is the price to pay for having a game in 20 years time.

Yes I know the talking heads on 360 will bemoan the death of the game, but their job is to find something to moan about.
