Incredibly frustrating game to watch in every facet. Everything from Atkins deciding the result to watching the clunkiness of the Broncos in attack.

Reynolds practically begging for a penalty and not getting it was the story of the night. Nothing was ever going to go right, and then the refs decide the result because the sight of blood scares the f**k out of them. This comp is doomed if calls like that become the norm. Taupau could do literally nothing about the situation he was put into and I don't blame him at all.

Our front row pulled a Canberra on Canberra, as in most of them took the night off, especially Carrigan. Probably close to his worst game as a Bronco. Same with Herbie who also had a shit night and Mam who was once again quiet as a mouse. Ahwell, it's a test of our resolve from here. This is exactly the sort of result that led to our collapse last season. Will they crack the sads about it? Or actually address their issues?
Raiders thourouly deserved that win. After a fantastic start to the season, then lose to a team when you are expected to win is a hard and sour thing to take. There is next week, and the week after, etc.

Congratulations, you made a post without referencing PENRITH

After all the crap over the last couple of pages as a Raiders fan the penalty was probably harsh.

In those situations though if a player lets go of the ball because they accidentally get hit in the head like that (elbows/knees etc) then it shouldn’t be a knock on.

It removes any of these contentious decisions having to be made.

Agree with Reynolds. The stoppages ruined the flow of the game and worked more in the Raiders favour.
I'm liking Walters attitude in the presser. No blaming anyone, reinforcing the values he wants to see in his team.

He has done that since day 1 on the job, even when we were copping 50 point hidings and getting made an example of by the refs, magic round crackdown comes to mind

Walters is always humble in the presser, I can’t recall him ever blaming refs or certain incidents that happened during the game.

Can you imagine what Ricky would be saying if that happened against his team?

There'd be weak-gutted dogs all over the place, particularly in the bunker

Yeah look place a lot of that blame on Atkins, because he saw what happened and then ruled a knock on, even though Rapana held the ball on initial contact with the ground and really only let go once the tackle was completed.

if he hadn’t made that ruling and instead just blew time off, I don’t think it’s a penalty.

But he decided it was a knock on and ruled it as such, and the rule book says that after a referee makes a decision he cannot subsequently change that decision unless he is notified of prior foul play by another official.

If he didn’t rule a knock on, they probably just get someone else to play the ball once Rapana leaves the field. But because he did, and it was so obviously the wrong decision, they had to find an act of foul play to get around it.

I don’t think Tapau will have anything to worry about to be honest. On report was overkill, but again, bunker can’t get involved unless it’s reportable. So they’ve really done a lot of work just to undo the initial f**k up by Atkins.

That kind of deflection is just a different kind of what Bennett does after a loss.

Ramble on so the media focuses on you instead of singling out players.

Thanks mate

I think the Broncos getting the ball back would have been harsh because he had caught it and he only let go of the ball because he was bleeding. When you think about it that’s a pretty natural reaction for one to make particularly if it is coming from your head.

The decision made was also harsh because it is purely accidental.

So to avoid any of these harsh or perceived decisions it should have just gone tackle 1 and play on.

He should have been in the bin. Jumped up to make contact, direct to the head, with force.

He definitely has a case to answer.
