A great game of footy and all the deadshit journos want to talk about is how unlucky Tapau was.

The quality of the footy press is at an all-time low.

That kind of deflection is just a different kind of what Bennett does after a loss.

Ramble on so the media focuses on you instead of singling out players.

I've never been convinced Bennett does that on purpose to steer the media away from his players and onto him, even when he coached us I didn't buy into it.

I just think he's an introvert and doesn't like speaking publicly. He's given so many of those type of responses over the years where it's only a one or two word reply and it leaves the journos having to dig a bit deeper and push a bit harder. It makes the news because it's a unique way to answer a question, I don't know if he does it by design, I just think he's an introvert and doesn't like speaking out.

Ricky on the other hand, he's basically a full blown narcissist. If he can deflect to remove blame from himself, he will do it.

Come on sweet cheeks, you can do better than that.

And, no. 2015 was a brilliant year that resulted in an iconic moment for our game. It hurt at the time, but my life isn’t defined by 80 minutes of a football game.

You created a username on the basis of hate rather than love. Was that a result of you not getting enough sleep, or oxygen at birth?
Oh-h-h-h, this is a GOOD one.

Peter Badel in the presser spent the whole time trying to get an angry reaction from either coach on the Rapana incident. Completely unnecessary and somewhat typical from him as a journo, continued on later too 🙄

He's a flog, here in Brisbane there's no greater flog in the media.

He asked Kev a couple of questions on NRL360 through the week, he asked about Cobbo saying he's a shit coach and he asked about Ikin and whether or not they don't like each other, Kev answered both questions very dismissively which was what the questions deserved.

Just saw the Rapana incident
I’ve honestly never seen a penalty for accidental contact with the legs like that
I’ve seen it plenty with sliding knees or a lash out with the boot but never when there was no intent

So in that respect I think that’s a lucky call. However with how the game is officiated now, we see penalties every game for accidental contact to the head and it really doesn’t matter of the circumstances. Contact to the head in any other situation is a mandatory penalty, so I can accept that ruling

Certainly the raiders being disadvantaged because a player was hit flush in the head is not a fair outcome… so whilst this is a new interpretation, I think it’s probably a fair and reasonable one given the current state of the game.

I’d have also been perfectly OK if the ref simply said Rapana had secured possession, there was accidental high contact with a knee that forced the error. And so it’s just raiders football, play the ball from the spot and on we go.
The only unacceptable outcome there is that a raiders player can be hit flush in the head but reckless actions from a defender and the defending team benefits from it

Tom Flegler got knocked out by a stray elbow from one of the Canberra players, entirely accidental (just like Taupau's leg). Nothing happened.

I think the spectacular look of blood gushing out of his head is what made them have to make that decision.
