When someone was injured? And yes, you do have a nicer ground than us thanks to the scumbag libs who look after the big end of town.

Oi those Scumbag libs were about to build you a new stadium until they were voted out recently now the Scumbag labour party will kick it to the kerb..

the desire from the Raiders was there tonight , sometimes its enough
gotta back it up against the dragqueens next week at home tho

It was a great win for the Raiders, I think they had it in them to win the game even if he was carted off and it was a play the ball.

Nothing controversial, they gave everything.

50% of rugby league supporters are mongs. Why are you surprised that they booed him?
Simply put, whole crowds usually don't boo off a player who was obviously pissing blood out of his scalp. It was being shown within the crowd as noted by their eyes looking up at the screen. They had seen what we had.

Usually, a crowd would empathize with the player's situation in years gone by, and clap him off when he was on a stretcher or two trainers were helping him off.

But this booing that Canberra player who has obviously in a very bad way, was not becoming of an Aussie crowd at the footie.

I don't think they were booing the player, they would have been booing the decision.

Tom Flegler got knocked out by a stray elbow from one of the Canberra players, entirely accidental (just like Taupau's leg). Nothing happened.

I think the spectacular look of blood gushing out of his head is what made them have to make that decision.
I’m in Japan and followed only via nrl app and seen the highlights only so can’t comment on that specific play as I haven’t seen it

i think the nature of the play had an impact and I think the nrl and decision makers had time to think it through because of the lengthy stoppage… and I think they likely came to the same conclusion I did
The only unacceptable outcome is the defence team benefits from direct contact to the head from reckless actions from a defender

and so they made a common sense decision. The ball had to stay with Canberra in that circumstance. Anything else would have been absurd
Play the ball or penalty are both viable options once you get past point 1

Just saw the Rapana incident
I’ve honestly never seen a penalty for accidental contact with the legs like that
I’ve seen it plenty with sliding knees or a lash out with the boot but never when there was no intent

So in that respect I think that’s a lucky call. However with how the game is officiated now, we see penalties every game for accidental contact to the head and it really doesn’t matter of the circumstances. Contact to the head in any other situation is a mandatory penalty, so I can accept that ruling

Certainly the raiders being disadvantaged because a player was hit flush in the head is not a fair outcome… so whilst this is a new interpretation, I think it’s probably a fair and reasonable one given the current state of the game.

I’d have also been perfectly OK if the ref simply said Rapana had secured possession, there was accidental high contact with a knee that forced the error. And so it’s just raiders football, play the ball from the spot and on we go.
The only unacceptable outcome there is that a raiders player can be hit flush in the head but reckless actions from a defender and the defending team benefits from it

On never seeing one before there has been a penalty this season in a game for accidental knees from the defender.
When it happened I thought it was a weird penalty but the ref did say dangerous contact to head.

Dragons have their fingers crossed that knees to heads are declared no penalty by Annesley on Monday.

Hook will call Craig Smith out of retirement and have him running off the back fence. He'd cause 7 or 8 HIAs if allowed to play 20 minutes.

Takayama
Just come from Tokyo… we’re here for another day before moving on to Kyoto

we got snow flurries tonight in Takayama and the kids went off their tree… meanwhile I was glued to the shitty nrl app furiously refreshing and not enjoying it at all… fandom is toxic :D

As a neutral the Broncos got f**king robbed by that ref, they didn't play well but there should have been a million sin bins for high shots, hip drops etc. The Rapana penalty was a absolutely absurd.
He took a dive
