Honestly couldn't be more excited to see where Trell's career goes both as a player and as a leader. He's already one of the best, imagine what he'll be like in the years to come if he continues on this path!

Great article. Just loving the attitude around the joint at the moment. Obviously, we're not inside the four walls but it's probably the most focused, hungry, and dialed-in I've seen a Souths side at this stage of the Pre-Season.

Yup, Sam in trouble again!!

What the actual heck?! I love the bloke to bits but what the hell is he doing?!!!! So silly, I'm really disappointed in him to be honest. If this his role with Souths done and dusted? Would he get stood down? What do we reckon? I'll be gutted and so mad if so. Just as he got everything back on track, he's potentially gone and thrown it all away again!

NRL great Sam Burgess reportedly arrested after alleged failed drug test

NRL great Sam Burgess has reportedly been arrested for allegedly failing a drug test after being pulled over in Kingsford, New South Wales.

According to 7 News, Burgess was taken to Marboura Police Station after being stopped by police, with a second round of testing required.

With the results of the second test still pending, police are yet to lay charges.

It is understood that Burgess was driving while his license is suspended, with the 34-year-old to face court in February.

Burgess pleaded guilty to three driving charges early last year when he was pulled over by police and tested positive to cocaine in February 2021.

The Englishman was charged with driving without a licence and using an unregistered vehicle before a third charge for drug driving landed in April last year following the results of a secondary saliva test.

Burgess played 182 games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs across two spells with the club, the first of which coming between 2010-2014, with Burgess eventually returning to Redfern in 2015.

He recently rejoined the Rabbitohs as an assistant coach.

'I am clean and sober' - Sam Burgess' denial after allegedly failing roadside drug test: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/i-...t/news-story/4c6f8e557d164554048c15694311879a

After hearing that statement from Sam, I do feel a lot better about it, perhaps I was too hasty with what I said last night, my apologies Sam. We should all reserve judgement until the findings are clear.

However, him releasing that statement is a good sign I feel. You wouldn't release a statement like that on social media if you weren't pretty certain you were clean. I believe him.

Best case, Sam is "clean and sober" and was still caught driving while his licence was suspended as a result of a previous DUI conviction.

I love Sam the footballer but even if sober, his decision to drive was dumb
