I did hear a story regarding the team lists and that it has been relaxed for RM and SS because of the uncertainty of who is actually playing until the Friday or even the weekend, due to players coming down/across. As this is often another club that is sending players the SS and RM teams really don't know who is playing until late.
I agree its not ideal as I to like to see who is playing etc.
The NSW RL have more problems with these comps than team lists though. The Point system esp for SS is completely messed up. Players who are SS level players are being ruled out due to high points because the allocation of points to competitions is basically stupid
The whole points system is stupid - a desire to have all teams move towards a low but even standard rather than ask lower teams to improve their standard.

However, the NSWRL brought out a new points system a few years ago, that applies to all competitions in the State except NSW Cup and Flegg. The number of points allowable depends on the level of the competition. The Newcastle District has great transparency so every year they make public the points of every player in their top grades. Surprisingly, it shows that Maitland (equal with Wyong) has the lowest points in the competition, even though they have lost only 3 games in 3 seasons. All of the other clubs are between 200 and 300 points.

Players like Brock Lamb, Sam Anderson, Matt Soper Lawler, Jayden Butterfield and Gary Anderson are ZERO points
James Bradley, Daniel Langbridge, Alex Langbridge, Pat Matautia, Chad O'Donnell and James Taylor are all 4 points. The biggest factor in this system is to stop one club bleeding other clubs of their best players, by allocating 25 points.

So 35 of Maitland's 93 points is accounted for by one transfer (Jade Taylor) and 10 points for Reid Alchin, when not picked for NSW Cup. Take these 2 guys out, and the best team in NSW outside NSW Cup would be allowed to take the field in Sydney Shield.

DLS Caringbah played a Mojo game before an NRL game. There must be a possibility that the Sharks NRL were the "ground managers" for this game because it is the only instance I have ever seen were the correct times for tries were inserted in play rugby league. So at least one human involved in the game can convert the remaining time in the half as shown on the clock to calculate the time elapsed.
I had a look at the Finals of the Penrith A Grade Div 1 last season and most of those games have correct times for the tries so it looks like the problem is the Major competitions ground managers.

Hills could have a stronger team this week with Billy Smith, Paul Momirovski and Jake Turpin all being included in the North Sydney NSW Cup team this weekend. I just hope Hills find out what their team is before Friday because they have to fly to Fiji.

The team is on MyLeague and it contains a stack of Norths players. Is Jerry Key contacted to Norths or the Bulls?

Jerry Key and Tyran Ott playing first game for Hills this year, 17 & 18 are up from Shield. The Norths statement at the start of the season was that Jerry no longer had a contract with Norths, but they then proceeded to pick him for the first 4 games. Toa Mataafa and Ben Marschke not in either team this week.

If you count in Jerry Key, there are 9 Norths squad members in the side to go to Fiji.

Apparently Leva Li will be back in the next couple of weeks. Returning after a serious knee injury.

Out of the 17 named to go to Fiji 14 of them are Norths contracted. The only ones who aren't are Maile Li, Brad Keighran & Damon Smith
It was common in the 19th century for local towns in Britain to hire professionals when they took on the touring England cricket team and the locals would be titled "town with Smith and Jones". This team should now be called North Sydney with Li, Keighran and Smith.

Silktails beat Hills - either 36 to 24 or 32 to 24. Details say 5 tries and 6 conversions, although headline score implies 6 of each. Silktails facebook says 32-24.
