Nicho Hynes is the form player of the NRL by a mile. He has to start and play 80m. So who does he replace ?

He can play 6 and replace the grub from Pennys. Or he plays 7 so he can run the team, but who plays 6 ?

If he plays 6, will he have enough involvement?

Playing him at 14 is a waste.

Run at me.
Hynes is a proud New South Welshman and Luai would rather play for Samoa.

Pretty easy choice i would have thought if the coach wasnt in Lala Land and is bias towards his old clubs in the Chooks & Chocolate Soldiers.

Was listening to 2MMM pod of Thursday (?) prematch and they reckon that after NSW lost the series there should be no incumbents. Pick the team from a clean slate.

So have we been embarrassed in to adopting QLDs pick and stick model because of their long term success with their decades of GOATS, or do we pick on form ?

Incumbency and combinations puts the best player in the comp Nicho on the bench and what, he comes on for 25 mins as a lock and politely asks for the ball ? If he’s the sub for 9, then he’s busy tackling pigs and shifting the ball away, when he should be getting the ball as first receiver.

I agree drop the grub and run with two hookers, Api and Cooke.

How many miss out from last years 3rd game.

Cook should be the only one from the bench to survive.

Luai, Tupou and Burton as well shouldn't be picked.

Stephen Crichton was pathetic in that whole origin series but looks a better player this year. I will cop him getting one more chance but anymore average origin's should be the end.

The starting forward pack pick themselves though I wouldn't be devastated to see Junior miss out.

I am actually going to Adelaide for game 1 with some mates to make it a 3-4 day trip away.

Got return flights for $360 from Sydney to Adelaide.

$180 at 8am flights on game day with Qantas is a bargain. I reckon they will be $400-500 early next year.

Never been to Adelaide so origin has given me the excuse to go there.
Take a prayer book...

If Gutho is 18th man he is ineligible to play for Parra the week before.

You don't want that either be in the 17 or not at all.

Doing a 5-6 hour wine tour up in the barossa those places may need a prayer book after our group is done with them 😀.
Nothing better than a couple of days with a group of mates. Me and four mates go to Melbourne for a week during footy season, watch an NRL game, go the the races, casino, market, get a couple of kilos of prawns, have a "Prawn afternoon" at my mates place. The mates leave their cars at my place, and we get the XPT to Melbourne (from Albury). My mate has a huge house in Melbourne that we stay at ...it is in walking distance of MCG..,(or it used to be)..We all pitch in a $1000 for the week, and everything comes out of that - meals, entry fees, taxis, any thing to do with the trip expenses once we are together. At the end of the week, if there is anything left over, we divide it up and 'refund it'. That way everyone pays the same. We usually go to a flash Hotel for a smorgasbord breakfast, and have an afternoon at a pub, counterlunch, and TAB arvo, and tipping comp..Always looik forward to it...especially now we are all into our mid and late seventies...

I think Paulo will be lucky to get a bench spot based on this year's form. I don't think Lane will get anywhere near selection. Matterson's suspension brain snap will likely cost him a chance. But Guth may end up retaining 18th/19th man status.
