Whomever the ne NSW coach is the first day they walk into the dressing room to train they should have the image of the QLDers fullback waving and pointing at the scoreboard to fire the f**kers up

Same with the fans. Most Qlders love anyone that pulls on the qld jersey. I reckon most of us in NSW hate about half the NSW team every year. If origin died not too many in NSW would really give a shit. We just want our NRL club to do well.
Going to be interesting how many attend game 3. There could be as many maroon jerseys as blue.
Yep agree most queenslanders support Maroons first then club second.

Down here for us its opposite Club first and State second.

I put my club and state equal. But at SOO time my state becomes the priority. I've felt depressed all day after last night. I love seeing players from my team represent and I don't worry about them getting injured any more than usual. They could just as easily get injured playing club football.

You know, Queensland rubbed our faces in it and they are smiling from ear to ear about hurting us and that will linger on till next year. It's about time we become serious about it.

Tackles per minute from the middle defenders last night. I've included minutes separately to give an indication of how long each player maintained his work rate (because 0.67 tackles per minute over 58 minutes is more impressive than over 42, for example):
PlayerTackles per minuteMinutes
Utoikamanu0.7512
Collins0.6942
Hunt0.6929
Carrigan0.6758
Grant0.6751
Fa'asuamaleaui0.6742
Haas0.6167
Yeo0.5980
Robson0.5880
Flegler0.5836
Murray0.5533
Fotuaika0.4231
Paulo0.4132

Cotter played 80 minutes and no doubt worked very hard, but most of his minutes were out wide, so his stats won't reflect how hard he worked while he was in the middle. Martin and Frizell played most/all of their minutes on the edges as well.

Anyway, I think this table showed the main reason Queensland dominated. They just worked so much harder in defence.

Obviously time in possession has a bearing on this as well - less time in possession, more defence required = more tackles per minute. And although possession was recored at QLD 49% (28.10 mins) to NSW 51% (29.50 mins), QLD made 10% more tackles then NSW and someone had to be making them.

And specifically better defence because of hard work
Meh. That's kind of belatedly using stats to prove the world is round, when everyone (well the vast majority) know this anyway.

QLD wins because they have more desire, want, belief and pride in the jersey and what it represents. I don't believe you assessment on the NSW side of the equation. They just don't possess the same inbuilt qualities that QLD have etched into their culture over the 40+ years of Origin. Right now, NSW are in scapegoat mode.......it's very exciting!
Too many show ponies too precious to do a basic kick chase. I can’t recall Tedesco, Too, Crichton, Addo-Carr, Young, Frizzell, Yeo, Haas, Paulo, or any other player besides Liam Martin putting any pressure on Queensland on kicks. And that was across Cleary, Luai & Moses. And yet despite conserving that energy were then too gassed to push in support
