I actually agree with most of Gus's commentary here.

Hard to disagree with what he says but if it's ever fixable I am not sure.
This about sums it up for me.

A champion team will always beat a team of champions.”
The saying proclaims that a team of good players who have played together, bonded, and shared a common team goal, will defeat a team of assembled superstar players who prioritise their individual goals over those of the team.

I agree. He was very quiet the last 20 mins but he didnt do any harm to the teams chances during that quiet period.
I saw a video by Andrew Voss earlier who stated that in his opinion Mitch was better in game 2 than Cleary in game 1.

I like Vossy. Good commentator.

The Blues - aside from Payne Haas - couldn't give a shit about NSW.

Well, I mean, I suppose Teddy does - but he's senile, and probably thinks that the Origin arena is John Farnham's farewell tour...

Even Paulo is a dud at Origin level, imo.

Luai should never play for NSW again - most over-rated Blue ever.

How about we blood some players who give a shit?

Campbell Graham, Dylan Edwards, Clint Gutherson - just to start.

Obviously time in possession has a bearing on this as well - less time in possession, more defence required = more tackles per minute. And although possession was recored at QLD 49% (28.10 mins) to NSW 51% (29.50 mins), QLD made 10% more tackles then NSW and someone had to be making them.
That extra 10% tackles refers to extra numbers in the tackle. Otherwise tackles would roughly match runs.

Meh. That's kind of belatedly using stats to prove the world is round, when everyone (well the vast majority) know this anyway.

Oh I don't think they do mate. Not with the way they deride 'toilers' and talk up merkins with speed and/or power as the only players that matter. Putting shit on effort areas and chasing the collision. You merkins understand very little about the game.

Too many show ponies too precious to do a basic kick chase. I can’t recall Tedesco, Too, Crichton, Addo-Carr, Young, Frizzell, Yeo, Haas, Paulo, or any other player besides Liam Martin putting any pressure on Queensland on kicks. And that was across Cleary, Luai & Moses. And yet despite conserving that energy were then too gassed to push in support
Perhaps we should've front loaded?

Payne Haas was our best but Moses was definitely one of our least shit players.
Haas is a lock for the next 5 years.

But do you actually notice the impact he makes on the game.

He has big engine and punches out quantity stats in long minutes that the likes Gallen used too.

But in origin like Junior I can't ever say he has grabbed a game by the throat and dominated as the premier forward maybe it's not his style.

He played too many minutes and was not very effective missed some important tackles as well...

But who gives a f**k about that, really? People will see and focus on different things, and have different opinions. So why do you see it as your holy quest ad nauseum to "educate" merkins on a footy forum, lol.

A half decent game from RCG today puts him into origin imo, maybe at the expense of Paulo.

I wouldn’t rule out Matto or Gutho either if they have strong games
