I’m just basing my opinion on him around when we signed him and Young, Hodgson was the one who was meant to have the more potential of the 2, if we could have a fullback who plays as well as young (may take a season like young did) it will be worth it to give him a crack in 2023

We live in hope. But he is made of thinner glass than Best.

1. Ponga
2. Young
3. Gagai
4. Best
5. Hunt

6. Pryce
7. Madden

8. Klemmer
9. Brailey
10. Dsaf
11. Heatherington
12. Frizell
13. Elliott

14. Mann
15. Jsaf
16. Pearce-Paul
17. Croker

....with no depth.

Is about the best we can wish for as we currently stand. We need some kids to take massive jumps for when the inevitable 12 injuries hit.

I like that Mac but I think Hunt might be cooked. Signs were there last year he wasn’t as impactful with his runs and he’s obviously struggled to find any decent form this year.

I’m just not sure that Bailey Hodgson is going to be ready on the basis of 2 seasons shortened by injury. We probably need to look at another player who is looking to play fullback - Reuben Garrick, Charlie Staines for example.

Staines at a good price would be amazing.

Tesi Nui looks a lot more comfortable at fullback these days. Can also play centre. Worth a look?

I wouldn’t want Staines tbh. He’s basically a better version of Tex Hoy, his metres out of trouble and physicality aren’t up to NRL standard. He’s quick and can ball play a bit though so I’ll give him that.

Actually what about Te Marae Martin for 5/8th?

Made a grand final playing there in 2017. Could argue he’s at his playmaking prime now too and has looked really good at fullback for the Broncos. Pretty sure he’s not locked up?

If Ponga does shift to the halves, I’d like to see a fullback with more physicality who will return the ball with a bit of gusto.

Thanks for the updates above. Wasn’t aware TMM was going to the Warriors or that we tried to sign Niu. When was that? I remember when we tried to get Staggs and mentioned Farnworth

Garrick would be great. Really underrated has done a great job at FB in Turbo’s absence. Add to that he’s a great goal kicker and you’ve got a very handy addition.
Wait, why are we talking about contracted players

Thats a big no no in this forum. Just ask Alex28.....

Aww. Hurt your feelings?

Garrick is signed to the end of 2023 at Manly. So, November 1 throw him an offer and see if we can get him early. Simple!

We tried to sign Niu for last year
yes, but the situation has changed at the Broncos now so we might be a chance now. Walsh will be their fullback going forward

1 Walsh
2 Oates
3 Farnworth
4 Staggs
5 Cobbo

If Broncos want to keep Niu, then we should go after Oates

my opinion on our 2023 team

the gaps are the positions we need to find and i'm assuming Klemmer wont be here next season with what is going on at the moment. My opinion is we have 13 first grade players in our squad, 14 if we keep Klemmer, so there is alot of work to be done on recruitment

1 Ponga
2
3 Gagai
4 Best
5 Young
6
7
8 D Safiti
9 Bailey
10 J Safiti
11
12 Frizell
13 Elliott

14 Mann
15 Hethrington
16 Croker
17 Thompson

If Klemmer does want out, is there a club that we can swap for a 7or 6
