Flavour of the day, I remember about 10 years ago A league crowd average was close to nrl and everyone was saying it was the end of the world then it was big bash , but like afl our teams have generational support and a core group of diehard fans , so when the momentum for the Matildas slows down our fans will still be attending and watching on tv and those idiots will have jumped on the next bandwagon from Newtown

Wait - if all those politicians and celebrities who posted about the Matildas non-stop now don't give a damn about Women's A League soccer, then why did they do it? Was it all just to get likes and views? Who knew? I'm so disillusioned!

Victorian sports really have been smashed In the ratings haven’t they

obviously the youth market is now gravitating towards the Everest

that ceo of nsw racing is doing a good job

he’s really managed to grow it into a major event in such a short time
Interesting that the first Everest race was 2017 and up until then ratings for the melb cup were fairly static but since the Everest’s inception they (melb cup ratings) have fallen 80 percent in five years

Maybe we just have a more enlightened generation that isnt buying into harming animals to make money?

Given Ch10 pay $20mill a year for a one off event the real audience must be significantly higher when you factor in most people are watching it in large groups? Thatd be sht load of money to pay for an audience of just 1.5mill people.

80 percent drop since the Everest came in

why ?
people turning off watching animals get whipped? More people switching to streaming? Less relevance to modern society?

You seem to be suggesting if you are interested in horse racing you would only watch one or the other? Why?

Everest has gone from zero to 750k viewers in five years

pretty much matching the decline in Melbourne cup viewers over that time

pretty funny vlandys took on both Victorian institutions from his nsw base and beat both

any decline in racing in Victoria isn’t matched in nsw

nsw is booming

interest is at record levels

What has been the drop in SOO, GF's since 5 years ago?

Streaming is the future yet. Ratings are collected almost entirely from FTA.

I don't like the way ratings are counted but every sport has the same issues. Uncounted
Viewers again is here

Not 80 percent

it’s clearly something specific and the timing lines up with the. Everest

I haven’t watched the cup in four years

Given the time it is run, With the streaming options people would be taking that option

Everest ratings arent exactly going up as the Cup ratings come down.

Unless the streaming options started in 2018 then no it doesn’t explain it

2017.

Streaming audiences did really start to take off in late 2018 though.

Note this doesnt include ratings from racing.com on fta or stream

It really is that simple, Sport struggles for the casual viewers in bulk know due to many many options to watch.

Racing.com that is the channels name, particularly on Kayo would be strong as you can stream while working
