Oh well. We are asset and $ rich and have a huge nursery so there ya go.
Yes it is a shame they were such a rabble for 40 years that they had to flog those assets off for cheap to developers who made most of the money. Not enough assets or $ to develop the stadium though, a pretty important asset for a football club.

Credit where it's due, they have improved a lot over the years and if they can fix their stadium then maybe I won't hate them so much 😅

What a complete embarrassment this ground is to the NRL.
Looks pathetic and amateur hour on tv.
With all the development around the ground now almost completed, there's little hope of any real capacity increase apart from a western stand re-build, and even that won't be Newcastle-esque.

Tiny clubs like the Sharks are really holding back V'Landy's ambitions for the NRL.
I’m more disappointed in Shark’s lack of ambition. I reckon somewhere between the northern in goal and the southern in goal, they could’ve built another four apartment blocks.

SMH reports the crowd in Penrith is 21,522:

*EDIT*

21,522 is the tenth highest crowd at BlueBet Stadium in the past 20 years. It's also the eighth highest regular season NRL crowd at Penrith in the same timeframe.

I know it is tongue in cheek, but it still seems like they are putting shit on the game instead of just celebrating a sell out crowd.

I mean many sell outs would have 300 seats empty not just 3.

Channel 9/SMH as usual, home of rugby league.

Raiders hoping for 16k according to Canberra Times. Which according to this will be their biggest opening crowd since 2002.
Which is weird because on the ticketek map there is barely a couple hundred seats on sale plus whatever is left in the GA sections in the goal ends.

Either they hold a lot for memberships or for some reason haven't opened all the stadium for sales which would be odd because the bays left on sale are in the least desirable areas.

A huge amount of seats are held back for possible new memberships

Ah thanks, that explains it. Doesn't make sense to not have them available to buy without a membership to me, people might assume by the ticketek website there aren't any good seats left when there actually is and decide not to go at all.
You're right, and I am waiting until tomorrow to buy tickets because I'm hopeful that the memberships/tickets person will put some better seats on sale tomorrow.

It's just a laziness thing. Because the Raiders use ticketmaster for their memberships, but the stadium uses ticketek so the Raiders staff need to manually remove the seats from their ticketmaster page and then release them via their ticketek access.

Agreed, and just plain cringeworthy when they announce Sell Out like it`s a big deal.

Yeah for at least the last 6 years or so i have been down to Canberra when the Roosters have played there( been there quite a few times before that to at GIO or Seiffert ) but being a bit older now and the better half wanting to sit under cover because of the weather conditions i had always been able to buy tickets for bay 14 at the gate for the Mal Meniga stand on the day of the game, in 2022 i looked on Ticketek, nothing was available there so i booked bay 15 hoping it was undercover which it wasn't, constant drizzle before the game but when we got to the ground at least the back 4 rows of bay 14 were empty so we sat there and thought we would just move back to 15 when people got there, no one else got there so had undercover seats and most of the 4 rows remained empty.
