As good as that sounds, there still needs to be some sort of curtain raiser match to the NRL Grand Final, whether it's the Jersey Flegg premiers vs the winner of the Queensland equivilant or something else to get some of the crowd in early

Why does there need to be a curtain raiser? Do any other sports have one?

The state championship is what everyone wanted for years. It used to be before the NRL GF but they changed when the NRLW started playing GF’s. I like 3 games on GF day

Well you have to give the NRL a fail this year .. failing to sell out a GF means ticket prices were too high

At an average of $200 a ticket

The crowd was over 80K. There have been several lower grand final crowds at Accor over the years.

It's a mere 900 people less last year's sellout.
