This takes the Eels home attendance average to 17,782 for the season, and an average of 18,525 at Commbank Stadium.

This takes the Warriors home average this season to 24,721 if you include Magic Round (and 22,970 if you dont), while their home average at Go Media Stadium is 23,686,

What was the actual number?

Edit - just saw lol

Yeah. I'm sure the extra game will be back to Monday night

I’d hope they make it 1 Thursday, 2 Friday, 3 Saturday & 3 Sunday games every full week for the 9th game. 10th game if they expand to 20 will almost definitely going to be a return of Monday night I’d say.

That will most likely mean 4/10 game aren’t the best for crowds. That can be somewhat managed where possible by using NZ for the Friday 6pm and Perth for Sunday 6pm. Use country games for a few Thursday & Monday games too where possible.

I hate going to stadiums to watch games. Suncorp especially because your basically sitting on each other's lap spreading covid ha ha.
I used to love to stand on the hill at LO because you were so close to the action, you could hear the hits.
At stadiums you spend half the time looking at the big screen to see what's happening.
League is designed for TV. You can see the whole 2 teams on the screen at one time.
You can watch it in the comfort of your home and takes seconds to grab a beer, pie or go for a wiz. Invite your mates and you don't have to worry about the crowd of merkins at the ground. Cheaper too.
Fox and 9 know this and it's why they have multi million dollars TV deals.
It wouldn't surprise me that in the future we'll have 2 divisions and either men or women playing a game every night with noone at the grounds, instead they're at home watching it on tv.

Weather improving as the day goes on in Sydney.

If you exclude Roosters games on ANZAC Day, and vs. Rabbitohs, I believe their best home attendance for a regular season game in the past ten years is 25,898 vs the Panthers on Good Friday Eve this year.

There's a reasonable possibility that today's attendance will exceed that. I think we're looking at something in the 25-26k range.

I'd call that a ringing endorsement of the new Allianz Stadium.

Austadiums says 13,000 seats, hard to imagine they’ll let 9,000 in on the hill. 5-6,000 seems closer. I could be wrong but I thought the Manly game there earlier in the year sold out in the end? that ended up about 16k. Good to see a sellout regardless.

Only the hill sold out for the Manly game, there was still seating unsold, especially in the northern grandstand.
Keep an eye on the little Northern wraparound area. If that is full it will be a big crowd. It always seems to be the last area to get people. The northern terrace area at Kogarah is the same, it’s the last area to be filled. I assume because they are uncovered but not hills. Don’t know really but they are the lag areas for crowds.

Broncos averaging 40,710 so far, total of 407,095.

Numbers needed to beat record averages:
1. 43,200 (1993) - 111,305 @ 55,653 per game. Gone.
2. 37,705 (1994) - 45,365 @ 22,683 per game.
3. 35,902 (1995) - 23,729 @ 11,865 per game.
4. 35,032 (2010) - 13,289 @ 6,645 per game.
40k Average - 72,905 @ 36,453 per game.

Record cumulative attendance for a regular season is 475,196 (1993). Need 68,101 @ 34,051 per game to top that.

40k average hanging by a thread.

Now that our season is toast, we will lose a bit of the bandwagon.
V Parra - probably 32k-34k. I'd like the club to print 5000 tickets and hand them to junior clubs as a final f**k you to the Dolphins given that they'll probably be playing finals, haha.
V Melbourne on a Thursday night - 35-38k. If Oatsey retires maybe 39-40k.

Good idea. Probably lucky they’ve already sold a decent amount for each already but yeh agreed it’ll be touch and go for 40k now. There’s also the away game at Suncorp Vs Dolphins which could affect sales of the Eels & Storm games.

Dolphins might get a few more on the bandwagon though.
