Interesting it is.
Should be the higher you finish the tougher the draw.
100% Jeff. That should be a given. Just like a horse is handicapped to buggery because it always wins so the only way to bring it back to the field is to penalise it with more weight to carry next race. Same as in golf when people have a higher handicap to help them to score lower if they are average players while the better players get either a lower handicap or play on scratch.

Well in all the major football comps worldwide each team plays each other twice home and away.
The only time a team plays more than once a week is when the better teams play in rep competitions so it gives the lesser teams an advantage. In saying that though they mostly have deep squads no real salary cap.
Our league should definitely have the two games per team system so that alleviates any bias in the draw

play each other twice 100% agree mate, anything else is a joke, and open for controversy, i have not had a good look at the draw yet but i bet the broncos will be playing friday nights more than most teams.

I don't think the AFL play each other twice. They have 18 teams.

Its a very good draw for us ...

6 games in Wollongong
13 games in the Sydney basin
3 games in Southern Queensland
1 game in Newcastle
1 game in Melbourne

Last seasons GF teams without origin players.

Lots of weekend games, just two toilet shifts with an away thursday night and a home 6pm in Wollongong vs the Warriors.

The draw is not going to be a factor if we have a poor season.

Exactly this "The draw is not going to be a factor if we have a poor season.".

The richest football code in the world is the NFL

They have 32 teams split into two conferences of 16 teams. Each 16 team conference has 4 pools of 4 teams.
A season is 17 games ... you dont even play every team in your conference once.

So the argument that in the worlds major footy codes everyone plays each other twice home and away is just bullshit.

European soccer players earn much more than nfl players
European soccer players have transfer fees in many cases north of 100m euros
The biggest event worldwide is the soccer World Cup
They play each other twice a year in all the countries

in terms of total revenue in the sport the NFL is out in front of EPL or other football leagues. You can argue whether there are other metrics that dictate if it is or isn't the top football code on the planet.

Regardless though, your point was "all major football comps" and you were wrong ... so suck it up and walk away.
