I believe Teddy played his best footy with us, awesome at his best but probably got 1 more year at the top to go.

Teddy's best season was 2016 and if it wasn't for opposition head hunting him every game, we easily make the 8 and maybe history turns out differently for us.

While your here @simmo1 are you going to join us next year for NRL Fantasy Coach. We had a ball this year and we're trying to get a full comp without relying on other forums..just ours. Ned came 3rd, Perth Tiger made the finals.

Ive always played Supercoach, but never done NRL Fantasy. Maybe I'll give it a go. I can't imagine the stress of having to deal with both competitons while watching neutral games though.

I've played Supercoach too Simmo and I honestly believe NRL Fantasy is more user friendly.
The thing I like about it is when the Tigers aren't playing there's always other players to watch. Also increases your knowledge of who's who in the zoo.

On paper the team that year should’ve easily made the 8. We wasted a very promising squad on a spud like Taylor - we are the only club to appoint him as head coach since he was knocked out by a player on mad Monday.

These are my Tiger takes from the first week of the finals.

1. Brooksy was good. So long as he isn't the focal point of the attack he is a quality player. I also think we are better off without him since we have Galvin, Latu and Luai next year.
2. Luai was great. His all around game is really good.
3. Skelton looked real good to me. Good tough hit-ups and he looks like he can finish. His defense looked a little off and it'll need work.

Good summation.

Finishing 8th usually means you get to play 1 more game. Wooptydoo.
We need to aim for a top 4 spot. When we look like a top 4 squad I'll get excited.
Atm, our squad looks like it will only marginally improve, that's about it.
Still, it gives us hope.

I reckon we'll have a much improved back line and our spine is quality. The pack is an issue and we have an extra player or two in our top 30 without any more signings.

Stef and Papalli are big losses but Stef is really just a loss on potential.

Brooks is not an organiser nor is he a million dollar player. He’s a very good supporting act though, I’d say similar about Nicho Hynes. With the glut of halves options we have for next year, we were better off letting him leave.

In relation to Brooks this is definitely true. He needs to be given a role that suits him and have expectations commiserate with his ability. I'm glad we let him go though because it was better for him and I think the skill-set he has isn't what we need. There is no doubt though he played good for Manly yesterday.

The thing with Manly is the Tom T doesn't look like he is in top form now and that is their no 1 issue. If he gets into top form that team can attack like few others in the comp.

I'm not sure about Hynes. Put it this way he hasn't proven he is a top tier player yet.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man, he answers his critics.
I was one of them.
