I was watching the 2005 series on YouTube the other day, and realised how good Rabs was compared to today’s commentators…. He had this way of lifting his voice and tonality that gave greater gravitas to major games: they may not be great games but he made them feel important. Ginane and co try to make every game the most exciting game ever, and their commentary loses its weight when the are, in fact, important games to call..
