it’s hard to argue that he doesn’t score if not tackled in the air. On the other hand it is a rule that is so inconsistently applied that a penalty try for it would be outrageous

I don’t agree with the rule that from a kick a bloke in the air can’t be tackled (safely) but if the idiots are going to have it then it certainly should be a penalty try as should any illegal play that stops a try from being scored.
