Based on past seasons our roster is a joke.
But what if the players develop and play to their full potential?
I’d love to see Su’a, Suli, Lomax, Sloan, Molo, JDB absolutely fire and if they do, we will be competing.
Our roster isn’t THAT bad. It’s not good, but it’s not as bad as we think.
If Hunt was so angry with the quality of the Club's roster after season 2023, just imagine the drama ahead now that we missed out on AFB and Dearden.

We have a new head coach and are supposed to have a new recruitment manager in Millard but on closer inspection, the Board has kept Millward and Haran on the payroll.

The best part of these types of videos is the excitement of the young lads.

Watched "Meet Hamish Stewart" and the Couchman twins, they love and have a passion for the club.

We still have the nursery and hopefully, we will soon see a group of players moving through the grades like the old days.

Leasing into the 2023 season, all the talk was about Sloan, Amone and Sullivan. And when these players were not selected in first grade each week, there was constant talk of them wanting a release. The thing is that none were ready for first grade.

Now Amone is no longer available, Sullivan has moved on and Sloan is again promising to step up. I say, contract these juniors if they show promise but select them on the form shown in reserve grade which may or may not limit the opportunities available to an up-and-coming junior.

For me, 2024 should be Sloan's last dance whether it be as a winger or fullback. If he does not cut the mustard in 2024, then it is the reserve grade wing spot for Sloan.

The big bonus, frees up around $500K to spend on a new player if and when one becomes available pending the outcome of the Cody Ramsey request to take him off the books for 2024.

I believe so re Ramsay and Amone not playing in 2024 will open up 2 spots ie we should be 28 players only in the top30 either now and or very soon.

If other clubs are hosting for a long term player they are trying to attract then they maybe a little open to letting a 2024 contracted player move on.

Ie a Terrell May if we are after him or a Oregon Kafausi who is a MO for 2025 (as reported in the media) then anything is still possible

I mean how lucky were the Sharks with AFB opening up as an opportunity out of thin air.

Roosters are no doubt sizing up a key player or two as they always are.

I’m guessing we would be still interested in atleast two of the below players and the approx $ they may attract?

Luki $800k pa? X 3 years
Kafausi (Oregon) $750k pa? X 3 years
May (Terrell) $600k p? X 3 years
Manu (Joseph) $1.25m pa? X 4 years
Kulikefu Finefeuiaki $650k pa? x 4 years

I know Oregano only signed a 2 year at reportedly $400k pa for 2023/24 seasons…..but you would have to think come 2025 this may double to at least $750k pa ?

He is a weapon and incredible ball playing prop almost like a 13 Jason T

Supposedly we already had close to $3m available for 2024 minimum for new players

We brought on 5 players at say
Volkman $400k pa I’m guessing to get him here and part deal with his 2025 contract at Warriors?
Eisenhuth $200k pa?
Allan $200k pa?
Sele $400k pa?
Flanagan $350k pa?
So we used approx $1.5m but two of these guys only 1 year contracts

So no Ramsay and no Amone must mean we have still atleast $3m for 2024 ready to use or forward pay some players to meet our sal cap obligations

That is not even taking into account all our 2024 players coming off contract which would be another few mill

I don't think Volkman will be 400k. I think at best 350k.

If Saints can get the 2 Cowboys boys in Luki and Finefeuiaki that would be awesome. These 2 are not just short term guys, they will be ones Flanno will be using for quite a few years. It will be similar to when he brought in Luke Lewis and Wade Graham from the Panthers who ended up playing huge roles in the Sharks glory years. If these boys are smart then they should take the punt and play for a premiership winner. Worst case it does not work out and they go back home.

Volkman had supposedly a $1m contract for 3 years at warriors 2023/24/25

Given his contract ended 2025

You would guess we must have incentivised him to come for 2024 over and above his 2024 at the Warriors……and then he let go of part of his 2025?

Ie given $ don’t matter much for our cap in 2024 but they do massively for 2025 to be able to get 3 x $1mill elite type players
