Test matches will be played at the end of the year

the ideal scenario will always be stopping the nrl for four to six weeks and having origin and the pacific cup / bowl on consecutive weeks together with women’s versions
Playing origin and pacific bowl at the same time won't work.

All of Samoa and Tonga's best players will be playing Origin. NZ will smash them by 50

And that's why Internationals are treated as a joke.

Club first, state second, country last.
In the 60s internationals got massive crowds and inter state football was dieing

inter state games ended up in the 70s being played at leichardt oval before crowds of hundreds

the decline of France because of Vichy and England because of sheer incompetence leads us to where we are today

people in Australia just aren’t really interested in internationals compared to other parts of the game

that the arl is even trying should be commended

You think St George v Roosters will rate higher than All Blacks v Wallabies in Bledisloe 1 ?
700k is what they ususally get against poor nrl games

if it’s up against the dragons roosters then probably closer to 500k

going up against a day when everyone is either watching league or afl is pretty stupid

20 percent more than second best

The NRL does and will have a very comfortable lead in raw averages. No question. Whether this means anything to broadcasters is anyones guess.

49 AFL matches not rated this season on FTA and 37 not rated on streaming services. Its going to be a lot more than 4 million missing.

As for NRL in NZ, literally nothing to base that estimate off. estimate pulled from thin air. Not even one piece of data available to base it on, and no regular data to establish a trend on since 2015.

Wow those ratings for an afl final are shocking

30% lower than the first final last year on FTA, and 15% lower than Ports first final last year against Brisbane. That said we know the theres been a 30% lift in Foxtel audieces for the AFL this year so its possible many of them have just migrated over.

Sure there is

there was a quote about nz ratings earlier which you could’ve extrapolated just like you did with the afl games that missed the cut off

if ratings really don’t matter why bother collecting them as you have for years

With growing nrl ratings the gap will only continue to grow

Like crowds they are a barometer of each games popularity
