Nope. Ch9 average 521k a game.

On FTA. Pacific cup average 390k

When Fox announces their numbers add them up and it will be under an NRL round.

Pacific cup was 10 games an NRL 8 games so a like for like comparison

They got 3.7 million just on fta lol

With Fox and Kayo it will be closer to 6 million which is more than one round of nrl

lol

If the NRL is intending to reduce the length of the season and increase the amount of international games it won’t be based on whether or not this one series happened to rate as well as an NRL round or not. I think this is a very short sighted discussion.

International game has arguably more scope to grow the tv audience than a round or two of NRL. Look at how many people get behind the soccer international teams in Australia or the Wallabies when in a world cup or a Lions tour. If we can build a genuine competitive and interesting international calendar the skies the limit.

Thats if Australian RL fans actually start supporting the Kangaroos. How embarrassing was a 90% Tongan crowd in Sydney for a Kangaroos game? Even little old England manages to get 15k English fans along to a game v Tonga!

Everyone has been programmed not to love Australia, if you support Australia your deemed a racist unfortunately.

Any number on Wallabies vs England at Twickers? - apparently the greatest game of any sport ever played (on another blog I frequent)
If Bledisloe 2 rated about 230k and was played on a Saturday afternoon, I can’t imagine a game played at 2am would have had more than 50k viewers.

Either way, you can let your union mates know that bottom of the table games in both the NRL and AFL get more television viewers than the wallabies….sheesh even Fiji v PNG got more viewers than the bledisloe

Yeah... Those Tongan fans are most likely Aussie so I wouldn't cheer too hard.

Good for them, they finally have a world class team that can represent their culture on the international stage.

Let's not pretend though that if England tour, some of those same fans are cheering on the Kangaroos.

The big thing right now is that it feels like there is a different perception towards the international game. When is the last time you saw this much positive media or even the NRL itself talking positive about the international game. Even back when we got far bigger ratings I don’t remember hearing it spoken about in this way.

IMO that’s a huge change and it’s what the international game needs to finally grow. Market it like it’s an actual event and not some Mickey Mouse bullshit that’s thrown together last minute that no one cares about. There is significant room for growth and I’m hoping the NRL is finally seeing that.

Read a book like the forbidden game, each time RL rises anywhere around the world, we end up with a world war. It's almost like they let the game loose every 50 or so years to get the young fighting men fit. It's quite sick. Welcome to ww3.

They should play Samoa Tonga NZ Fiji in NZ. bring England over and play Australia. The English team are a lot better than in the past, they have halves, hookers and solid forwards & backs. Australia has been hoarding all the best PIs for ages resulting in them being stronger.

Australia is vulnerable for loss as is NZ.

As the PI families see their people rise the number will increase past 50% PI vs Other and this will further deteriorate the Australian dominance. Examples of the poaching are Nanai, Tualagi, etc etc

NRL teams should start poaching all blacks and that will lead to NZ becoming better and better
