No offence, but players can get injured at any time. Heck how many times have big name players gotten injured during training? Plenty.

For example, I know one player at the Roosters, many years ago now, who was told at training on a Tuesday he'd be making his first grade debut that weekend. Less than an hour later, he stepped in a hole in the training field, broke his leg, and was ruled out for the season.

They can’t get injured in the WCC if they don’t play in it, Can they…..

Regular season games are worth something, the WCC is worthless

Awful idea. International rugby league is far more important
An international club competition has as much chance to transform the sport as internationals. See soccer where that type of competition is hugely popular/prestigious. It's just currently set up as a glorified trial game so largely meaningless.

Change the format, improve the incentives and do it in a way that appeals to audiences in both hemispheres and you could have something very special.
