I think the Eels and the Roosters also demonstrate that Stadium 2.0 crowds exceed Stadium 1.0 crowds.
Souths need to take advantage of Stadium 2.0 crowds as well.

have Canberra started building up consistent 15k+ crowds now?
This weekend is the 5th home game for Souths. At our 4th home ground.Souths need to take advantage of Stadium 2.0 crowds as well.
That crowd figure seems way under. No way another 3-4K more could fit in Leichhardt. Was there in 2019 when the Tigers lost to the Sharks with 19,491 in attendance and the crowd was basically the same, the ground hasn’t changed, so how is it 4.5K less
People probably spaced a little more on the hill, in the wet people probably aren’t standing on top of other people. That crowd figure seems way under. I agree . I was there in 2005 and it was 22k. Didn't look much different..That crowd figure seems way under. No way another 3-4K more could fit in Leichhardt. If you're a Tigers fan and close by, going to Leichhardt is awesome. To travel there and stand there amongst Tigers fans, lose and travel home?It gets to the point and that is tribalism. Outer suburban teams' followers will be firmly committed to their home ground , but will not travel to other grounds in Sydney in large numbers.
Why ? Either transport public , parking , time of game factor/ distance , if the team is going well or crap or a combo of more than one.No problem with semis or finals.
I'd like it to be otherwise but that's the grim reality.
Even the Swan's crowds dropped off when they played at Homebush.
It’s worth the effort even if you have to travel. If you're a Tigers fan and close by, going to Leichhardt is awesome. To travel there and stand there amongst Tigers fans, lose and travel home?
Big difference.
It actually drew more than I thought it would TBH, and probably because of the 2-for-1 offer that they had with the Brumbies.Canberra crowd disappointing. They’re towards the top of the ladder, any reason why they can’t pull 20k this weekend?
Is there more the nrl and raiders should be doing to engage Canberra? Considering it’s a likely afl 20th team location there seems a risk here
Yeah, maybe...more people at Leichhardt than at the Vatican
You can use my ticket. It’s worth the effort even if you have to travel.
start and end the day with a few schewies on Darling street.
It doesn’t get much better than a game at Leichhardt, Belmore, Brookey or any of the suburban grounds.
But why do we have low expectations of Canberra? I know the stadium isn’t great but if they’re flying in the top 4 I’d have thought they’d be 20K minimum every gameIt actually drew more than I thought it would TBH, and probably because of the 2-for-1 offer that they had with the Brumbies.
Presales look amazing for their game on Saturday 10 May against the Bulldogs. If they knock off Melbourne next Sunday, and the weather is good, I wouldn't be surprised if the crowd is 20k+.
