Remember there were some weeks where it was monsoon conditions during some rounds, like it or not, that will always see drop offs, folk with tickets staying at home etc. Grounds not been dumps, success on the pitch all contribute but for me its the Entertainment, I cant remember last time I watch a game that was absolute Dog Shit, I know there has been some but the skill levels in most games I have seen just mean you are coming back for more, it reflects in Crowds, bums on seats and people watching at home.

It's the record. Previous record was 5,968 which was what the Warriors drew against the Raiders in late August.

Prior to that the record was the 2024 NRLW season open between the Knights & Roosters which drew 3,921.

Warriors drew 18,875 across their 3x games in Hamilton for an average of 6,292.
Range of factors behind the pulling power of Warriors NRLW. Not least, how strong the club's brand has become.

It's a good idea but a couple points:

- Making it fan friendly to attend but then playing in stadiums that are too small to accommodate crowds isn't exactly ideal. (Make it 25k minimum to host finals games). No reason you couldn't schedule a Sharks or Manly game at Allianz in the day so its easier for fans.

- Why would Nine and Fox agree to this? Did the NRL have to give something up in return?

This is true but at the same time it’s not like the last few years have had ideal conditions. We’ve actually had unusually wet weather and a lot of top drawing teams have been shit. That plus we’ve had a period of a few teams being ridiculously dominant.
Raiders and Sharks finals are sold out. Storm selling well. Warriors slow.
Warriors are basically cooked and are up against the all blacks. Really bad scheduling.

The Warriors v Panthers game isn't selling that bad. There's currently 4 single seats left in the entire eastern side, 25 on the entire western side and 8 in the lower southern stand.

Upper southern is maybe 15% sold of its 4,100 capacity. So we're around 22K sold of the 26K capacity.

Ideally it would be more, though by Saturday I'd be surprised if it's not sold.

For comparison, the game is only about 1,000 behind where the Storm are.

I didn’t even think Warriors wouldn’t sell out surely it will. They basically sell out every home game.

Will be interesting to see if crowds can keep growing next year.

Penrith still won’t have a home and it’s possible bulldogs crowds might drop a bit. But If Parra do well they will get a 23/24k average, Souths could dramatically increase their crowds with a top 8 finish.

Storm playing after the afl grand final would be good imo given the large number of viewers

Being up against the all blacks test In Wellington too after an hour of play would’ve kept some away

Nrl just disregarded the warriors wish to avoid that clash but still wants to grow the sport in nz

Yeah, very unusual that Nine (who is the host broadcaster for finals matches. Fox just simply simulcast the Nine game coverage and dub it over with their own commentary) agreed to this, as they get higher ratings for a Friday night match.

However, absolutely great to see Sunday arvo finals back in week 2 (and hopefully week 3). This change was LOOOOOOOOONG overdue. It should've happened back in 2013 (i.e. switching from Friday night/Saturday night back to Saturday night/Sunday timeslots when Nine got their coveted night GF back)

So good having Sunday arvo footy back

it was taken away to accomodate the twilight GF, but when we lost the 5pm GF back to 8pm, Sunday footy finals never returned.

great news

Wahs slow? They are selling far better than Melbourne... Melbourne sales so far are poor given that they have the city to themselves on Friday night, if we're honest. I thought they'd had such good crowd momentum that their fans would sell this out in a day or so.

Hopefully they can sell it out by Friday, but there are seats available everywhere at the moment.

The Storm have never sold out a week 1 final. I'd be very surprised if it's sold out by Friday. If they get to 25k that's still a good result.
