Not being a smart arse, but where are the Rhino` players coming from, I`m not familiar with any South African heritage players in Oz.
Former Manly & Cowboys forward, Ben Condon, is arguably the most experienced player in the squad.

Notable State Cup level players are North Sydney half, Coby Thomas, Mackay's Ethan Sweet and Souths Logan centre Kobe Martin. Others in the squad who have played State Cup include Aden Perry (St Mary's now), Shane Gillham (Perth now) & Kam Cryer (Illawarra Cup now)

So after 3 games, this year's Pacific Championship aggregate is 104,847.

Total aggregate last year (including the Final) was 101,292.
We've beaten the record for highest average crowd for an international tournament. Was previously 26,401 for the 2004 Tri Nations. Currently at 34,949. Even if zero people show up to Commbank next week, the record still falls.

Amazing crowd in Auckland today.

Seriously Can the kiwis muster more than 10k fans in New Zealand ?
We'll see what the Kiwi support looks like when they play Australia.
I don't expect Kiwi support to come in big numbers until they're beating Australia regularly.

It's a little bit like when NSW used to beat QLD every game.. it only got big when it switched to " Origin"

Kiwi support could go mental if Australia v NZ becomes as even as QLD v NSW...

Kiwis have been competitive since 2005. They won the world cup in 2008. Also won the old tri nations/ four nations in 2005, 2010 and 2014. And only a couple of years ago, won the Pacific Cup final. So NZ have won five tournaments.

Certainly far more competitive than the Wallabies. Kinda feel like people forget what NZ have achieved over the last 20 years.

That's a bit inverted. Origin raised interest south of the Tweed even more than north of it. In Brisbane, the first encounter with NSW at Lang Park was still one of the biggest games of the year all through the 70s, avg crowd 24k.

5 in 18 years doesn't really blow anyone's skirts up.
Every time they look at going well, they disappoint.
They pumped Australia, next year don't make the final.. beaten by Tonga.. people need to know they're the real deal and that performance yesterday and the emotions.. maybe they are.

A 25% chance against Australia won't do it..

They will never be equal to Australia in rugby league. There is only one NRL club from NZ. It is lopsided, but also comes back to commercialization, viability.. Even now there's ongoing debate about a second NZ team. Can they afford it?

Winning five in 18 years is very commendable, especially where the national code in NZ is union.

Same argument in origin where nsw / canb has 11 clubs whilst qld has 3.5

They do need one more nrl side at least

Ideally if Christchurch does well they would look at Wellington and even Hamilton for nrl sides

Tonga has a population of 100k no teams and the national sport is Union.

If you look at the trajectory of players in the NRL, 50 years ago, around 80 or 90% were Australians who wanted to represent Australia.. where are we at today?
The scary thing for Australia is that, first their was a move where players started choosing the Pacific Island Nations over Australia, that ruled out a lot of players who would otherwise play for Australia but equally ruled out playing for the Kiwis.. now it's starting to be the Kiwis they're choosing to represent the Kiwis, Wyate and Casey Macklean.
As the Kiwis get better and can topple Australia, more will go..Kalyn Ponga I'm tipping to jump on the Kiwis for the World cup.
But aside from that, there's more talent than ever coming out of NZ and NRL is becoming more popular than ever there.. add in a second team..

It's only 10 years ago I'd say the best 17 were all Aussies..in just 10 years that's been blown away!

Have you actually had a look at the Kiwi team?
Did you watch them play?

The tide is turning fast mate.
