Totally insane that Healey is on the extended bench for a sudden death finals game.

Penrith must be stopped at all costs.
Brad Schneider is the only man that can stop Panthers. Absolutely wild that he has proven himself to be the worst player on the field everytime he has played and still keeps a spot.

With Mitch Kenny out. He probably plays 20+ minutes no matter the score... and when he is on the field the opposition are always dominant.

Capewell at centres ey, well we can bow out with 40 plus points scored on that side. I’m not sure web y is the tactical genius he was made out to be.

Interesting for both sides.

Mitch Kenny is a simple player but its left a gaping hole in Penrith's team. There is literally no one in the club who can do what Kenny does every week for Penrith.

Warriors should just go hard at the centre and find a way. Breach the hole NZ if you dare.

If you told coach Webster after the opening round debacle in Vegas that he could fast forward and grab 6th position at the end of round 27 he would have taken it with both hands. The high risk hot potato football of many years gone by has been replaced with a low error high completion rate style which is a much preferred base to work on.

Injuries have cruelled their season but you’d still count it as a reasonably successful one. They just need some extra strike out wide and to fix their right edge defence. An elite winger like Khan-Perreira would be a good fit. There aren’t many genuine centres around but a utility player like AJ Brimson would carve up in that position in a team like the Warriors. Would never happen but they’re the type of players they need.

You don’t have to be a Rugby League savant to work out the tactics here. Get Jesse McLean 1 on 1 with Capewell at every opportunity. A double to To’o and McLean. At least 1 meat pie to Alamoti.

The Warriors looked like they were just going through the motions last week against Manly keeping their powder dry for this game. The worrying thing for Manly supporters is that if Boyd had his kicking radar on, the Warriors would have won. Expect the Warriors to come out aggressively with all guns blazing going set for set until the Panthers just wear them down. Panthers to clear out then coast home to conserve petrol for the challenge ahead.

I also like Alamoti coming in for Jenkins. He has a stronger carry which will be important if the game turns into an arm wrestle. Also has some X factor about him as well as being a good finisher. His defence can be a bit iffy on occasions though as he showed last week.

Penrith generally go up a gear come finals. Not sure they have that this year after playing 3 months of must win footy but they should have enough in the tank for the Wahs.

Warriors have had a great bounce back season after last year’s poor performance. One thing I’ve always found with them is when you expect a big season from them they let you down. 2026 will be hugely important for them as a club.

Who remembers the COVID times if it wasn’t for the likes of The Warriors there would not have been a competition to follow, All they wanted was a change of time for their game and the bastards at NRL refused their request. I hope next time the world succumbs to a pandemic the Warriors remember this day.

No Kenny evens things up alot.

He's less than mediocre in attack but a insanely good middle defender.

Him missing is made worse by Schneider likely getting atleast forty minutes of playing time.

I get the sentiment… but let’s be honest… if the Warriors did anything else they would have been committing suicide as a club.

it doesn’t make it any less of a sacrifice… but they didn’t have much of a choice I don’t think.

Agree. While the NRL might have been in breach of its broadcast contract for not supplying the number of games per week if the Warriors did not play, the broadcasters and the NRL would probably have renegotiated the contract to reflect 1 less game and the NRL would have taken a haircut on its fee. It was in the interest of both the broadcasters and the NRL to play. PVL would still have got the game going and just left the Warriors back in NZ. I get the Warriors did make some sacrifices, but the game would have gone on with or without them. And as you said, they didn't have much of a choice as not coming over and playing most likely would have placed the club in a very difficult financial position.

Warrior's team list makes me sad for what might have been. Hopefully they can have a mostly injury free next season.
