I'm not sure you've read the room, TGD loves that sort of stuff, he was no.1 fan of the Raiders move away from lime to navy and steel
Not true.

It's not what I would have done, but in theory the navy could have worked if the designs were good, but the design they went with was generic and too heavy handed with the navy. The wave of nostalgia that came with Canberra Milk signing on as the major sponsor for that year didn't help with the launch of a major rebrand either.

The navy training gear has always been very popular though, so you can see why the club looked at going down that route.

The club dropped the ball on the new logo last year as well.

The Raiders haven't had a decent original design since 2012, and even then I wouldn't say it's a great jersey. Vees and chevrons are massively overdone in RL, but the colours work and it was a good use of the stripes that was innovative for the Raiders at least.

Dolphins jersey is out
Better than the last lot, but still very meh.

Their shades are off. The gold would really pop if the red was darker, closer to blood red. The gold is too washed out like it was on the last jersey as well. Old gold would be more warm and vibrant.

Changing the logos to gold would better integrate them as well.

Titans is garbage like always.

Titans are a downgrade - although I like the colours. The design is just kind of nothing.

The Dolphins is kind of a sideways move. It’s not substantially better but it’s not a downgrade. I kind of like the two-tone red.

I'm liking the two tone red for the Dolphins. While it's good to see a more restrained use of gold, it does look like its now competing as the trim colour with white. Switching to a white collar and making the top of the socks white with a thin band of gold underneath would have made the overall design a bit more coherent imo - red base, white "panels" + logos, gold trim.

The NRL sets a maximum size for the front of jersey sponsors, not a minimum size. The clubs make the decision as to how big the sponsor needs to be, often as part of the contract negotiations with the sponsor. They also make the call whether there needs to be a giant box around the logo or what the signed off kit will look like.

Using the Bulldogs as an example, the giant gap around the Laundy logo on the home kit would have been completely decided by them. If the NRL or Laundy was enforcing X amount of space around the logo, then the bottom of the V on the Away jersey would have been cut off.

The choice of logo (ie. Whether its stacked, horizontal versions, positive, negative, keyline or box) can be influenced by sponsors, however from working at both club land and NRL, there are plenty of times where no one will actually ask the sponsor if they'll entertain using a variation.

The clubs that actively care about this, like Roosters, Eels, and ask these questions of sponsors, often have quite good sponsor integration as a result.
@League Unlimited News does this need to be sourced before making these claims? hahahaha

Dolphins will be keeping their predominately Black jersey as their away for 2025.
