QLD not allowing Lomax to make an extra 5 metres every time he got up to play the ball was the difference last night. Not the penalty count.

From the game:
Rain was horrible pretty much all night, atmosphere was the best I've heard at origin in Perth. I'd say crowd was 60-40 NSW.
WTF is with playing shty 10sec music clips every time there is a stoppage in play? Let the crowd create the atmosphere ffs!
Wolfmother were a good choice for pre game band
HT entertainment was a bit drab, could have done better
Optus suffers the same as all Australian stadiums in the rain, unless mid seating and back in tier 2 you're getting wet. Learn to build fcking roofs properly Australian architects!
Finally a good close game after the two previous blow outs.

All in all a very enjoyable night.

Blues lost by 2 points scoring 5 tries to 4 in a rain soaked game. Dry track and a bit more discipline and it’s a different result. Scoring early caused a few of them to shift away from their structure and it was half time and 26 points later by the time they readjusted.

They’ll Wazn Wyong Cup the win in a few weeks.

I mean Cleary is the best 7 in the game by a lot but he doesn't step up in Origin games.

Tbh I think fewer and fewer players do, because the concept is staler than a can of XXXX and players don't even hate each other anymore, plus they are all in with massively increased club commitments with the way the season has lengthened, more teams have been added, etc etc
I don’t why you even watch it

Can we focus on the worst play of the match? Watch Connor Watson's work with 10 minutes to go.

Went short side three times. After the first one starts barking further orders at Stephen Crichton. Goes there twice more when the play isn't on. His final attempt a beautiful pass to no one that meekly rolled into touch.

It took a bunch of Panthers to drag NSW back into that match. But it only took one Rooster to f**k it all up again.

Now that's a play Mitchell Pearce would be proud of.
I wouldn't have picked Watson for origin this year

See, it is possible to critique players from your own club.

NSW (and Cleary) were dominating game 3 2022 when Topou inexplicably knocked on a nothing clearing kick with two minutes go before half time.

QLD scored off the set following the scrum.

Could barely touch the ball the second half with the NSW forwards dogging it and letting Burton be held by Tino to get hit by Gagai.
It's never Nathan's fault

I thought Ash had a wonderful game but it could have been even better. He was in a perfect position to take an inside pass from Munster a couple of times and he would have been under the sticks untouched.
