Well here we are Game Day is upon us as we play the Dragons a traditional and fierce rival down at the Gong. It’s a scorcher today so hot so who knows what to expect I’d say it’s a game where the little men will fire tbh. I know a lot of Dragons fans and it’s been a build up to this one so it would be nice to get bragging rights. They took the Charity Shield but now it’s time for us to take this one. The Dragons had a loss at home last week so they will be desperate to not lose this one today. Flanno would’ve put a rocket up them after last week. For us we had a good win to start last week but we will need to play even better today to get the 2 points. Well done to all those making the trip to the Gong keep hydrated let’s hope they boys give us plenty to cheer about and we can hear that South Sydney chant uo and around WIN Stadium.
Looking at the Dragons they’ll certainly be desperate to turn last week around. They have so much strike in the backs in Gutho, Suli, Sloan, Holmes and I’m worried that’s where they will get us. Flanno and Ilias will do a solid job in the halves Ilias will want a big one today along with Damien they’ll be desperate for a big game so we will need ti be mindful of that. Then in the pack they’ve got JDB, Su’a, Luciano, Couchman, Guler, Lawrie etc plenty of size and strength and Liddle is a big threat off the bench as well. We need to be on defensively otherwise they’ll tear us apart. For us we lose a few troops Wighton, Munro etc so are down on backs. We have Myers coming in and well done to Bentley Hape who is debuting today such a proud moment for him and his family. If we can match the Dragons in the middle we will be in it we need big efforts from Keppie, Moale, Keaon, Arrow, Hubner etc and will need Liva, Tallis and Junior to do a job off the bench. Cody and Jamie I am looking forward to watching we will need big games from them to have a chance. We need to complete our sets kick to corners and not give silly penalties away. The key will also be limiting the Dragons offloads in the middle hit ‘em hard and force em into error. Campbell and Tassy have a big job to do in the centres as well. As their big boys tire I’m looking forward to Jye Gray taking them on in the middle. We will need a big game from Jye today.
