hey guys new to the forum, looking to chat about the upcoming season & potential signings. would like to share my thoughts on our 2025 line up and who we should sign for the 2025 season.

Backline
Kayal iro-
has no made any promises he will be in the shire after this season & has the ability to be a top 10 centre in the game, great defensively & solid in attack.
Paul alamonti-has been a revelation at the Penrith panthers this season slotting in just fine after the loss of Taylan may, would be another hand pick up.
Jeral skelton- has slotted into the bulldogs line up perfectly every time they have called him up. Big body & has speed to burn.
Forward pack
Cory horsburgh-
can bring the grunt we desperately have been searching for, Was form lock of 2023 showed he can transform his game as became a great ball player mid way through last year.
Loko pasifika tonga-
already on the saints books And HAS to be included in the nrl side next yearkid is the second coming of Payne haas.
Dylan egen- another on the books the kid has been mentioned for numerous pre seasons and hasn’t been given the nod. It needs to happen next season.
Joe lovodua- ex saints junior who was never given a shot. Can play hooker/SR/L/5/8 Turned into a revelation for hull fc for the past 2 seasons. he has the potential to be the ball playing lock we desperately have looked for since 2018.
Jazz tevanga- another off contract ball playing lock who would be absolute gem of a pick up.

I believe Iro has re-signed until 2026 and Alamoti has re-signed for 2025

Also looks like Horsburgh if off to Canterbury

But some good suggestions nonetheless
Yep you’re spot on.
Iro has just been resigned 15 minutes ago.
Alamonti has resigned for 1 year with penny panths & big red was just spotted at Canterbury leagues club so most likely going to the dogs. wow we are to slow to move while other clubs are snapping players up.

Yes, welcome to the Dragons Forum, Dragonsfaithful.

Look forward to more of your contributions. Player signings has been ongoing here on the Flanno's New Signings Thread for sometime now and as you have pointed out in you later post, we are slow to move while other clubs are snapping up players.

Hopefully we have some decent signings soon because things could easily result in short term signings until our Recruitment people can improve on how they negotiate to get those all important better signings.

My feeling on Horsborough is he was probably used as pressure on the Knights to pay Saifiti more money for next year. We don't have the spots in the top 30 right now (we need to hope we can get rid of quite a few players who are taking up spots). Horsborough and Saifiti probably only possible if we can offload players like Lawrie, FIfita, M Molo, Rava, Bird first and foremost

I imagine Coach Flanagan knows who wants to keep and who will be shown the door for 2025. For me, Bird, Rava, and Lowrie should be on his list to leave at the end of this season.

Well the merkinerbury flogs must have a player roster of about 231. Gus and his unlimited budget is buying everyone so there must be a firesale coming one day soon. All those current players who just love playing for the "family club" are unknowingly about to get shafted out the door. Chewed up and spat out like an off falafel.

Update guys

Jeral skelton has signed for west tigers
kayal iro has re signed as of yesterday for the sharks
Corey horsburgh is on the verge of signing for bulldogs
valentine Holmes has most likely back flipped and will stay at NQC even if he gets stuck in Reggie’s.

What kills me the most is that WEST TIGERS a team that hasn’t looked like playing a finals game since the last time they made it, can sign skelton luai etc but where still stuck here in the dirt, very tough to have a positive outlook on our club.

I like this analysis.

The backline players mentioned have obviously signed elsewhere now, but we got Val Holmes most importantly. That's the spot vacated by Lomax now filled.

There is still a lot of talk that Flanno is interested in Gutherson and monitoring the situation. If he does become available for 2025 (with freight being included from Parramatta), who makes way? Are we moving Bird on? Ravalawa? Tuipulotu? The Feagais? Sione Finau? Allan and Ramsey? What would this mean for Sloan?

Lovodua is very much a forgotten man. Interesting analysis.

No doubt the current perceived lack of urgency around signing new players (been heavy on Saifiti & Horsburgh) is because we don't have the spots open in the Top 30. We've got to move contracted players on before we would even be allowed to register new contracts.

Thank you appreciated
Val Holmes is a great addition to our back line especially the speed he will bring.
For me players that need to drop out of our top 30 is
1.Max feagai - has not offered much in the opportunity he’s been given.
2. BMM- I don’t think has done bad in the time he’s been with us but the game is moving on from 30 minute stint props.
3. Tom eisenhuth- Another player that has been smack bang average not bad not good
Will need to be moved on. His stats look decent but 75% of his tackles are in effective if you really watch, he doesn’t make more than 100m majority of the time.
4. Blake Lawrie - will be hard to move him on early as I don’t think many will sign him but if we can add him in a swap would be ideal.
5. Jack bird- we should not play on the Mutual option and allow him to test himself on the free market. He’s been given opportunity in the SR,FB,C,5/8 and hasn’t taken his made it his own.
6. Jesse Markse- handy player but there’s no point of resigning him if we won’t play him.
7. Villiame fifita- averaging 50 or odd metres in NSW cup might come good but don’t look like it’s happening at saints.
8.alec tuitavuki- same boat as vil fafita.
+ Zac lomax + FA brown

with 9 out of the 10 mentioned off contract this year
We have ideal space for
D.cook
V.holmes
D.egen
L. Tonga and have another 5 spots if we can sign anyone

Out of all those backline players you mentioned I do believe a few will be moved on

Jack Bird is reportedly in talks with Benji and the Tigers

Mika I believe is on his way to the Super League

Max Feagai won’t be re-signed and unfortunately I do reckon Cody Ramsey will retire

Interesting regarding Sloan , was re-signed on 500 000 dollars per year but would obviously be moved out of FB if Gutho is signed maybe a move to wing ???

Mat Feagai , Finau and Allan all depth and Tuipulotu the other starting winger
