Super League clubs are keeping tabs on Fijian winger Mikaele Ravalawa after being made aware of potential recruitment opportunities relating to the NRL talent. The 26-year-old, who is currently playing for St George Illawarra Dragons, could be part of a salary cap-related shake-up at his current club which has already attracted the attention of clubs in the UK.

Similar to the Wests Tigers earlier in the year, the Dragons are believed to navigating through some salary cap pressures, and that has seen them look at their current squad to see if they can cut some costs internally. Ravalawa is believed to be one of those players under consideration, with the Dragons also willing to contribute to his salary should a move arise.

Yes, every year they say in 2 years we will have a huge war chest to make big moves in recruitment.
But it never seems to eventuate.
What's the news on Jesse Marshke? The dude has a 100% win record as starting halfback. He plays with good effort, his chase on Kotoni forced a kick from the sideline. Maybe the team is better balanced with him in it rather than our so called best player who doesn't really play anyone else into the game. Hunt makes it all about him and he honestly isn't good enough to play that role. His tackle six kick options are terrible and game management is average. Plus Kyle plays so much better without him in the team.
We should re-sign JM.

I've seen a few games of NSW Cup where Marshke was put into 7 (in anticipation of origin), and honestly it was hard to watch.. I mean maybe he just needed practice, but he keeps hesitating and thinking and putting kicks into legs and it just looked like a guy who is an out and out 6, being forced into the playmaker role. In first grade I dont know if he was really doing any organising.. we won the games, but not sure id say its because there was a 7 on Jesse's back.

Kyle I think is the better 7, but I think to avoid the headlines that would trigger all the nepotism boyz/headlines, and also to create 1 less 'change' if you will in terms of numbers on backs.. he kept Kyle with a 6 on his back.

I'm not opposed to Marshke staying as our backup half because we need someone to cover 6/7 and 9 in an emergency, but I must admit id love it to be an actual halfback.. cause we have 6's in our system... LKT is the furthest along the pipeline.. he should be the nsw cup 6, but the 7 jersey is up for grabs.. we also have Bird & Leilua that can play 6, but we have really zero actual 7's in our system apart from in Flegg and SG Ball.

So if we look at it now roughly this is what our roster looks like / could look like right now

1. Tyrell Sloan
2.
3. Moses Suli
4. Jack Bird
5. Christian Tuipulotu
6. Kyle Flanagan
7. Ben Hunt ( C )
8. Francis Molo
9. Damien Cook
10.
11. Luciano Leilua
12. Jaydn Su’a
13. Jack De Belin
BENCH
14. Jacob Liddle
15.
16. Hame Sele
17. Raymond Faitala - Mariner
RESERVES
18. Loko Pasifiki Tonga
19. Hamish Stewart
20. Dylan Egan
21. Villiami Fifita
22. Tom Eisenhuth *
23. Toby Couchman
24. Sione Finau
25. Ryan Couchman
26. Michael Molo
27. Mathew Feagai
28. Jesse Marshcke *
29. Corey Allan
30.

POTENTIAL DEPARTURES
- Josh Coric
- Jackson Shereb
- Connor Muhleisen
- Mikaele Ravalawa
- Max Feagai
- Fa’amanu Brown
- Dan Russell
- Cody Ramsey
- Dan Russell
- Blake Lawrie
- Ben Murdoch - Masila
- Alec Tuitavake

CONFIRMED DEPARTURES
- Zac Lomax ( Eels )
- Savelio Tamale ( Raiders )

I believe that out of the remaining off contract players Jesse Marshcke and Tom Eisenhuth will re - sign with everyone else being moved on

Loko , Stewart and Egan confirmed getting upgrades and Corey Allan joining the 30

I’d also move on Blake Lawrie along with the rumoured departure of Mika

That leaves 4 vacant spots on the Top 30

Obvious wing target is Blaize Talagi if we do miss out on him which I think is highly likely there is very slim pickings on the market so I’d be choosing between Finau , Allan or Feagai with Tuipulotu on the other wing

The remaining three spots should go to forwards

Obviously Daniel Saifiti is on our radar and looks certain to join

I believe Reagan Campbell Gillard should be on our radar aswell

And the final spot can just be a full in for whatever you need , whether it be another winger or prop ( e.g the rumours about Matt Lodge )

looking at that I can understand Flanno trying to move some players on to free up spots cause cash doesn’t seem to be tight but spots are

o The Eisenhuth one is the interesting one.. I thought we had already offered him a contract but perhaps not.. seems to have not been as good in back half of the season (I heave heard older legs tire over a long season), and RyanC played lock today in new cup.. it might just be a good fit.. also means Flanno could definitely sign that 2nd big prop.

o We are sort of assuming Lawrie/Ravalawa are gone.. the Lawrie one im still nervous because im not sure Flanno is going to be willing to pay him out if there are no takers.

o My prediction is Latu is also in that 30.. but its not confirmed anywhere and ive heard contradicting views... ill leave him out for now, but if hes there then we might need to offload Fifita (or Bird) as well.

o If not Marshke I think we would chase some sort of equivalent 6/7.. would love if he was a real 7.

o Also sounded like Flanno wants MaxF in there..

So it leaves:
2. Blaize (or equivalent)
10. DSaifiti (or equivalent)
15. Big Dawg Prop (if possible)
30. Max Feagai

I wouldn't mind a young hooker in that 30, but im not sure we have room currently.

According to Webb's email to members, we need only 2 to fill.our roster for '25.

Looking at:
1x prop (my guess is DS)
1x outside back (my guess is VH)

If this is our top30 we really need a Stack of train and trial players to help when long term injuries strike at centre, wing or halves

maybe Flanno has his salary cap perfect where he can convince a stack of our borderline guys to take on a Train and Trial as not many offers elsewhere ?

Marscke
Matt Feagai
Nu
Johnson
Rumble
Glover
Volkman?
The Schu ?
