Christian and Nelson are off the bench for the Storm.

Either one would be a great signing.

With our young forwards coming through, it would give them direct contact with elite forwards from successful systems and not cause a roadblock.

I would be happy if we pay overs for either.

All this talk on new signings, im really hoping for one of them.

Geese the train and trial lists amongst the NRL teams is interesting to review

unlimited $1,200 pw contracts are allowed and can be for the whole season.

they can also earn up to $3k per game as an extra. If they do the bonuses are counted to a contract for the next season if they sign on.

after round 10 players on train and trial contracts can play NRL

Roosters have 12 players on train and trial

dragons only 8 players

Dragons Train and Trial Players

Hayden Buchanan
Finau Latu
Jett Liu
Lyhkan King-Togia
Loko Pasifiki Tonga
Kade Reed
Nicholas Tsougranis
Jacob Webster

Neither of them will win us a premiership whilst they play. We are aways from that time.

But. Work ethics, professionalism and intelligence.

Welch all day. Young bucks need that and we are missing that currently.

But, either will do.

So far we know Lomax and Tamale are gone for next year, and unofficially at least, De Belin will also be elsewhere in 2025.
I would be happy if we announced just one new signing who is an experienced first grade player from another club prior to 30 June with at minimum another 5 years of quality football in front of him.
The war chest desperately needs to start being spent.
I hope your wrong about Tamale we need to keep our best young players thought he could jump straight in for lomax.

NickT, Latu and LPT are in the 30+6 next year.... I reckon Williams and Buchanan will have a spot also.. but nothing is confirmed yet.

Reed might be a 2026 proposition... and not sure on LKT.. might depend how well he plays in cup this year.

The ones im curious about are Liu and Webster.. I wonder if they have been surpassed, or whether they are still in our plans.. gonna be very hard to retain them all, not enough NRL spots to go round, theyll have to stay on train and trial, but surely clubs will come knocking..

Stefano, Royce & Connor Watson would be my trifecta of great signings. The latter 2 are in their late 20s so prime of their careers (still scope for some improvement imo) & wouldn't be a road block to our future youngsters.

While big Stefano would be entering his prime when the young forwards are starting to have consistent 1st grade performance.

Great for the age profile of our list & fills some holes in our list.

Flanno has been at our club for a reasonable time as head coach and I should imagine he has been assessing the current playing group and even at his not too long a tenure has identified what we lack and what we need and it is up to someone who can negotiate a good deal to get the squad sorted in both new recruits and retrenchments.

While there has been talk that there isn't that much on the market, that depends on where to look. Take the Titans for instance, they have signed one of the better playmakers who is a Wallaby and shows great skills in attack and can kick goals. Not too sure about his defence but Hasler will get him up to speed with that. His name is Carter Gordon and we will hear a fair bit about him when he starts playing in 2025 for the Titans.

So in saying this, what the Titans have done is certainly identified where they need to improve and they see that in "Getting" Carter. What we need is the same sort of action - search for the "best" even if it involves players from Union. There are certainly lots of big guys playing in Union who might be happy to switch over to League - the Dragons got to try at least to see if they can get any.

If we have indeed won the race to Peter O'Sullivan, he is the supreme scouter and identifier of young talent. Whether that is in the bush, within our own juniors or playing at other NRL feeder clubs/systems. He is also the guru in converting the identifying into recruiting. It was no fluke that he brought along players of the calibre of Tallis, Mundine, Nathan Brown, Jason Stevens, Kev Champion, Inglis, Cronk, Slater, Latrell, Manu, etc, etc.
Players like Schiller, Bostock, Lobb, Garrick, Saab, Robson, McCinnes would probably not have been let go if he was here.

we need to stack every single advantage that we can compete in.................FULLSTOP

We are not propping you up at Bondi where your house goes up $1m every 2 years.

We dont have a Panthers junior base

Recruitment - We need Suli. We need the best talent scout !!! Have u ever heard Greg Inglis tell you how he was recruited and Suli was the first and only to say come to Melb Storm.

Pathways - Lets be honest we have less polynesian kids growing up locally We had to bring to our club Halangahu, Loko Tonga, Taufa, Latu, Pauli, Stanley Traill etc etc.......... ie the players we have massive hope for to move into FG next few years

Coaching dept and High Performance dept - the best !!!

Investors / owners / sonsors with deep pockets - we need you !!!!

Board - that saids lets win and we will back it up !!!!

bring on board the "no dick heads" experienced players to lead by example - Good experience and or role players to help us propel from point C to point A ie RFM, TOMe, Luc?, Sele, Nu, Jesse, Allan, Kyle, Tui emerging maybe

etc
etc

I suppose first and foremost is to re-sign a couple who will be coming off contract - getting the house in order is crucial. See what we then have and build and go for the right players for the future, step by step. No ad hoc signings - we have these players who we want to retain because they love the Dragons and they have the attitude we want of them and we will go for these players who can grow with the club and improve with the results at the same time.

Peter O'Sullivan has to be the man to control all of this and he and Flanno working together is a must if we are serious for the years ahead.
