2025: Week 2 finals

Probably to give the Sunday team backing up a decent 6-day turnaround.

I really don't care for either team in the Saturday match. Suspect Raiders will be too good, and being higher ranked all season they deserve the win there.

And go the Panthers on Sunday, send those Doggies out!

Will be very difficult for the Raiders to get themselves back up after yesterday I’d imagine, both physically and mentally.

for the first time all season, the bully boys of the NRL, the club that were handed the softest draw in the history of the game without and any key injuries all year except for now face a sudden death game against the form team in the comp.

if the dogs can get through this one than I'll concede that they deserve a spot in the prelim.

Ironically this is actually true and be very funny when the Panthers knock them out on Sunday

It's a good article.

"Canterbury have lost four of their past five matches, the lone win coming over the Panthers’ NSW Cup side after Ivan Cleary rested 16 players. Even that effort was ordinary."

No way they're getting a win this weekend, even if they drop Galvin to the bench (as they must). Doggies out in straight sets.

We weren't going well either

Wonder how much of a sway that was? Dogs at the top, us near the bottom
Wasnt his dad and manager wanting to go to Parra??

I can only imagine Ciraldo and Gus courting him (as early as last year) and telling him premierships are about to drop but are missing one piece (Galvin)

When Corey Parker and Gordon Tallis are making sense either the NRL have got it very wrong or I’m having a stroke.

NRLs thinking we couldn’t possibly have a game in Brisbane between Brisbane and a NSW team on 2-3 hours after the AFL grand final in Melbourne, which sure MAY involve a Brisbane team too.

Those poor Broncos are whinging about a 7 day turnaround they usually get most weeks and they haven't even qualified for a GF yet.

Actually don’t think anyone from Brisbane gives a shit. Just the usual media creating outrage that doesn’t exist to give them talking points.

would it have been fairer to have teams with only 1 day difference, sure, but no one is caring about a 7 day turnaround

Its about time they brought back the Sunday arvo for week 2 and 3 for the finals. PVL cares more about the fans than the tv ratings

Looking at the Bulldogs team list - Reed Mahoney gets a recall to the #17 jersey!

And they so need Crichton (named in #23) to somehow be fit enough to play - so they can move Burton to five-eighth, Sexton to half, and Galvin out to 18th man. It's the only way they'll come close to Penrith.

Carn you doggies supporters, pay full freight and fill up Accor stadium and watch your side exit the comp..

Want the Raiders to lose because f**k Dicky, but I also want the Sharks to lose because I know a Sharks fan who is entirely too cocky. So I win either way on that one.

Either side is getting done by the Storm in Melbourne id imagine in the prelim...

No winners there im afraid...

If Sharks win on Saturday Id doubt they'd beat Melbourne. The Storm haven't been at their best and a team like Canberra is capable of beating the Storm.

I wouldn't write off Canberra in Melbourne

There best is good enough and its more a mental hurdle for them this week to pick themselves back up.

Canberra have won 5 from last 7 games @ AAMI Park.

Won there last 2 x finals in Melbourne

Also beat them in the only game this year at Magic round where Melbourne have an awesome record at.

Bizarre record but canberra last 6 wins against Storm have been away from Canberra.

Difference being, they just busted themselves in an extra time then golden point finals epic when they seemingly had it won. Mentally and physically that knocks you about

Now another finals game hurdle ?? Melbourne is a bridge too far im afraid

I actually think sharks beat Canberra anyway..

its very exciting though..
