So studs up Slater didn't get any suspension for kicking Klemmer in the face, but Fale gets a week for his? I'm not saying Fale shouldn't get suspended because what he did was extremely dangerous (I would have given him 2 weeks minimum).
I'm just pointing out the inconsistency over suspensions handed to players because of who they are/which team they play for.

Things have changed a bit since 2018 though (which is when Slater retired). The NRL's administration has gotten somewhat better. I suspect if Slater was playing today and it occurred, he wouldn't have gotten off scot free.

The fact that NRL darlings like Crichton and Cleary get away with whatever they want, and the difference between Couchman, Kenny and Galvin's punishments says that Slater would have gotten off scot free. The NRL today is as bad, if not worse, than it used to be, the only difference is occasionally they pretend they accidentally left a charge off the sheet when the outrage is too much.
