So is Roy Morgan worthless or meaningful which is it? You are contradicting yourself here if it’s basically worthless as you say. Or are you just using whatever data source to suit the argument you are positioning to fit whatever agenda you feel like making in that moment?
Its not that black and white. I think the Roy Morgan data for leagues where there is 1 or 2 teams is pointless, but I also think that when you have 20 years of data that asks the same question, it provides a sometimes useful insight into the growth of that support.
Don’t say you post Roy Morgan as it’s independent data and you’re just being objective by sharing it, because you constantly add colour and subjective takes to your content.
Also if I thought something was worthless I wouldn’t be resharing and promoting and giving if more air time, because a post is equivalent to an endorsement.
Posting news and content on a news sharing feed does not equal endorsement and never has. I generally prefer to post the content, and then quote tweet it with thoughts if needed. Im doing something different now that should make that clearer because far too often people assume the comment made with the post is mine instead of it being verbatim from the article.
If you agree it’s worthless then call out fumble fools that point to that directly or indirectly when they stupidly say afl is the most watched sport based on fluff Roy Morgan surveys rather than actual OzTAM tv ratings.
Its worth noting they Are BOTH surveys, Oztam surveys 12,000 people, Roy Morgan surveys 50,000+. I do think the results of both are less than definitive. I also note - As you posted the screenshot - Oztam is owned by broadcasters with a vested interest in the data, Roy Morgan does not have such a conflict.
Oztam ratings are considered the bible by league fans....unless its anything they dont like. Like Reach data which Oztam made the standard in 2023. No one knows wtf Fox is doing to measure ratings any more.
