Incorrect. It was impossible for people to watch both games on FTA as the day game was on in VIC/NSW/QLD only and the night game SA/WA only. Most likely scenario, some people watched both thereby reducing the total overall number.

Aww diddums poor afl couldn’t put two games together at one time and present it as a single game when they release the ratings figureThe AFL had a day game which aired in 3 markets and a night game which aired in 2 markets.
As much as you love to derive a perverse sense of joy from seeing AFL fail, any comparisons are meaningless in this case.
Rubbish. It shows they cater for fans in local markets by allowing all non-Victorian teams access to watch every game on FTA. The NRL would be wise to do the same for Perth Bears and the Storm. If the games weren’t shown in some states that shows afl isn’t a national sport
Why wouldn’t those games also be shown in all markets if afl has a national following ?Rubbish. It shows they cater for fans in local markets by allowing all non-Victorian teams access to watch every game on FTA. The NRL would be wise to do the same for Perth Bears and the Storm.
Because Foxtel needs some exclusivity over games. Otherwise almost all games would be on FTA and nobody would pay for Fox. Your arguments are getting more and more ridiculous. Why wouldn’t those games also be shown in all markets if afl has a national following ?
That’s a fair point I’ll pay thatBecause Foxtel needs some exclusivity over games. Otherwise almost all games would be on FTA and nobody would pay for Fox. Your arguments are getting more and more ridiculous.
Ratings up 5.8 percent
25.1 million includes Fox / kayo
“The NRL recorded total viewership of 224 million across Australia and New Zealand last year and V’landys believes the code will smash the 300 million mark by 2028 when the competition expands to 19 teams.
“Once Papua New Guinea and Perth come in, we’re looking at that (300 million viewers),” V’landys said.
$4b over 5 years would be unbelievable and set NRL for huge success $4b over 7 years would be good but obviously in a different league

I just hard to believe we could get that, but it keeps on coming up.$4b over 5 years would be unbelievable

Would be the end of union in Oz and eventually NZ, the money we could spend on development would put a serious dent in the fumbles ranks as well.
Interesting they keep using 2019 for comparison, I`d suggest they`re hinting at what the numbers might look like in another 6 years.

How so? No Saturday games on FTA? The NRL never had this anyway (apart from the last few rounds).Fumble sold it soul to the tv broadcasters and ended up with a rubbish deal for its fans for the next 7 years.
Not true mate, get them into the gym instead of starving them and you wouldn`t recognize them.Different body shapes vis a vis fumbleball and league there’s not really much crossover in athletes there.
