Easter Monday public holiday and no NRL game on FTA... the Hawks v Cats blockbuster should see astronomical ratings today. The atmosphere at the G sounds electric with 90k screaming fans.
This isn't bigfooty, no one gives a f**k how many cult members are crammed into the 'G' spot. I doubt there will be astronomical viewing figures and wouldn't care if there were, they would need astronomical figures for every game to start closing the 50 million viewer gap in the overall season.

To be fair he is addressing a rather salient point 🤣

There was no Married At First Sight last night on 9. The Sunday Night AFL game was outrated by Channel 9's 60 Minutes, a documentary about the Wiggles and that ABC show about a Piano.

I also see St Kilda vs Port Adelaide is up against MAFS this Sunday. I'm sure the ratings will be close.

I am loving the influx of obvious Bigfooty / Fumble trolls on this forum. It’s obvious that the success of League is really grinding their gears to the extent they come in here and post negative comment after negative about league and try to pump up the fumbling game.

Just shows league is a threat.

No he isn't, he's an aflol troll coming in to a tv ratings thread talking about crowds and hypothetical ratings because it’s all they have.
There has already been an extra fta nrl game this round, if channel 9 want to also do easter monday, they can pay for it.

Fair enough. I disagree because a game on FTA would have rated well.

That's because Essendon had zero chance of beating the Bulldogs and the result was beyond doubt at Quarter Time. Today's Hawks-Cats match, however, is a thriller and should keep viewers tuned in from start to finish. Not sure why the NRL wouldn't want to compete with a game on Channel 9?

Yeh, as with any fta game has a higher total across 2 broadcasters. It's up to the Nrl and the fta provider if they want to include it as a guaranteed fta game in the next tv deal like good friday is now.
But also you are taking value away from foxtel who provide the bulk of the money, so there is no reason they can't have some exclusive blockbuster event games.

Meh. The atmosphere at the MCG is nothing special. Plus Australian Rules footy is just an awful sport to watch.

I agree that the NRL should have the Easter Monday game on FTA though. It's been fox exclusive for too long. It will probably still rate similar to the AFL though - even without FTA.

No one cares bro.
What is the difference between a shit afl game and a thriller? Is it higher fumbles per hour?

It's an epic contest between genuine rivals. Like many here you have a blind hatred of AFL and nothing is going to change that, your loss.

My point is its a national public holiday with a large captive audience at home, casual viewers might flick channels and instead of Eels v Tigers on 9 they get Tipping Point... blind Freddy can see this is a missed opportunity for the NRL.

Only relevant to people who like that 'sport'. I personally don't care and can't differentiate between a good and a bad contest because it all looks like seagulls fighting over a chip.

People have had 4 opportunities to watch Nrl fta on this holiday weekend, 1 more than usual.
How is one more game a missed opportunity when we already have a massive ratings lead and dominate pay tv because we give them good games.

I am for this being a fta game, but they have to pay for it so the nrl doesn't lose value overall.

That’s a good question
I can appreciate a good contest regardless of sport. For example, I'm not the biggest fan of Rugby Union and usually find games boring to watch but if a match is hotly contested, with many lead changes, heroic defensive efforts and exciting scoring plays I will tune in. Same applies to AFL and any other team ball sport.

That's fine, go to bigfooty or the roar to discuss it then, stop bringing it up here on an nrl forum.

Trust me, I am not missing out by not watching stuff I don't enjoy.

It’s ok I’ve come to have a chuckle whenever I see a post from this afl troll. Just shows how much league is making inroads and fumble zealots are feeling the need to come in here. It just validates the success league is having.

If Alf was truly ahead they wouldn’t have any need to come in here. I’m sure they’re not going to aleague forums with the same bs
