They say they botched it with Ryles, really? Yeah, nah. I thought Flanagan was the better option at the time, like Hook. I thought so at the time, two experienced coaches but not suited to this clown show JV. Who's next? Who's out there for the challenge? You have 2 years and 5 rounds to make it happen.

Yep exactly GS. Management are unlikely to propose proper changes to the front office to the next coach, so we definitely need our next coach to do what Ryles did and get these demands agreed to before signing the dotted line.

Any coach worth their salt would know this now and would do this, as we're increasingly becoming a coach's graveyard.
I'm hoping our new CEO and Operations Director Ben Creagh will advise against appointing Dean Young and instead recommend W Talau instead.

Remember, Young was appointed the interim coach once before and failed miserably.

If, and its a big if, the board move on Flannagan, then the job has to go outside the club. No current staff in any coaching capacity, no ex players who are or may be partially performing elsewhere.

I think we should look further afield. If a coach is to be appointed, look at one of the top performing coaches from the UK. Not ex players though and certainly no one that has been in the club previously. Let them bring their own staff if needed, clear out the current stock and maybe get some English players out.

Shaun Wane comes to mind as someone that could change the current attitude in the club. Someone along that line would be my choice if the spill happens.

Ivan and Nathan Cleary linked to Roosters now .
Dragons need to go all out and get both for 2028 .
Gordons need to open the billion dollar cheque book and get this done again as it was in 2009 signing Wayne Bennett from Brisbane.

Any takers for Kevin Walter’s??
Could do worse.. attack minded coach with strong roots in the Brisbane junior system and could probably drag some talent with him...

I definitely want the club to think differently about their Coach this time around.. i.e. this is not a time to play it safe.. we have nothing left to protect.. rock bottom... so take a gamble, get an exciting narrative going ahead of 2027.. if nothing else it will help us attract and retain our talent.

It would be Billy Slater for me. The timing is not going to get much better for us to sign one of the best young coaches. Brisbane surely won’t sack Madge this season. Payton looks safe at the moment, as does Hanay. Only possibility is that he is waiting for Bellamy to retire.

Another great choice, never really thought about him, I'd definitely give him Flanagan remaining contract.

I have no doubt that DY will be installed as our interim then on to officially being appointed as HC.

They (the Board) will use the age old tactic of: he may not be popular but they (us supporters) will get used to it. Throw in the stability line somewhere there also.

However, if by some miracle intervention he's not chosen then, after some more thought I would go with for HC:
1. Peter Wallace
2. Michael Cheika
3. Ben Hornby
As my preference.

Cheika would be an interesting choice given his pedigree in Union and now 2 stints at the Roosters as an assistant. We need someone to right the ship before flamboyance. Promote WT as 1 assistant and maybe lure Hornby back as another wouldn't be a bad blend imo.

Wallace would want to bring his own choices of assistants (and rightly so).

Give Parra Kyle Fanno at 7 and give Saints Mitch Moses and Saints win more games 100%. Flanno would have a better record and wins the games against Dogs, Manly, Parra and Titans. That is all Saints needed to win those games.

In other words Ryles with one of the best 7's in the world is struggling so how good can he be.
