Just watched the last couple overs, did watch it live too.

I also think Anderson, will do far better than Watson, as he will stay @ 6 or 7.

Throw a pie a two that get wickets.

But is humble and knows his place is not 3.

Australia will not win this, you cannot carry that sort of ego and win. In this I do blame captain Clarke.

lol at elbusto and his agenda.

Clarke is the Captain of Australia. Had a injury, recovered from it, and was picked in the side. Nothing more, nothing less.

Clarke had two mistakes, supporting in 3 who is not.

And falling from Brendan's trap.

Had two men there.

Against others it goes for four.

Why do people miss this, am sure Clarke did not, he knew and said so.

Smith and Starc may get us there...but ego will do us.

The only thing missing from Clarkes dismissal was "Lolloylegs".

Being a westie, I reckon will not happen again.

As for the rest, Hadds.....glad we kept him.

Some commentators were talking up Faulkner to replace Watson. Be interesting to see if they do take the plunge.

Smith to 3, to play an anchor/rear guard role, in particular if we lose Finch and warner early. Both Finch and Warner to play aggressive, hope one of them delivers per game

Clarke needs some runs in the next game or two, there will be rumbles otherwise

Sudden death is where its at. Pakistan and WI (and even SL on their day) could progress to the semis, as unfair as that sounds. Poms are unlikey but ....D/L or a reduced game favouring them etc...

Let's have some early predictions.

Winner: Black Caps
Top Score: Kane Williamson
Golden Duck: Shane Watson
Most Boo'd: David Warner
Biggest WTF Moment: Glenn Maxwell

Actually pretty close to on the money really

I thought Clarkey got the biggest Boo when he got called up to the mic for his post-match speech.

Maxwell definitely deserved the wtf moment

Williamson test batting average 45.96

IN South Africa 2 tests ave 10.75
IN Australia 2 tests ave 18.00
IN England 2 tests ave 20.50

IN NZ 15 tests 57.18

Just like commentators with Clarke, some of you lot are doing the same thing with this bloke, LOL

Lets see what he is like when he plays a few more tests in these regions. By all reports these averages should sky rocket.....we hope

I'm sure if you look at most test cricketers records, particularly when they're young and in the infancy of their test careers, you will find some iffy performances. The way he held on for New Zealand the other night was sensational, and frankly, he's been doing that for the last 18-24 months consistently. He's 24, with 15 international centuries, and an average of around 46, and growing rapidly, in the two major formats. Thats a pretty damning record, and you can cut it however you like really, but fair dinkum, thats one hell of a record. He still averages 39 away from home in test cricket, which I'm certain will continue to grow. Only Tendulkar, Sobers, and Bradman had more test centuries than Kane prior to the age of 24.

So I think your stat yanking is bollocks, and more or less the point of my initial post was to get an assessment on the lad's temperament. I maintain you need a pretty clear head to execute his plan the way he did to seal the deal the other night. Frankly, just what you want from a #3 bat, in either format of the game.

It seems some think its yanking when it suits, but when its an Aussie then its a fact

Ive said before I think Williamson is a talent, but lets see how he goes against a few more better opponents. Hell, the kiwis need someone to stand out from the pack
