No doubt, but I thought that was apparently obvious to all that he was going to be green at NRL level. Personally, I think he probably can be quite a good coach, he's learning there are a lot of differences in structure and style in the NRL compared to the ESL, and that its different coaching an all-star line up versus a team of junior all-stars.
Experience is critical. The beauty of all this is though if we keep these players, and I dare say the coach as well, they should all be learning a lot of lessons. While our record the past few weeks isn't great, we've at times dominated Melbourne, the Tigers, and the Sharks, and obviously wiped the floor with Penrith. There are enough good signs. Its those times when the momentum changes or you have to take the less glamourous option that we get found out a bit, which is the imperfection of youth. I think for the most part its developing, I mean aside from Johnson's last two plays, his play the last two weeks has been refreshing in that its been very measured - his kicking game has been outstanding. I still think over the last two weeks you'd be hard pressed to find back-to-back Warriors performances that had such control in the kicking game as those games. I'm also not surprised with some of the defensive stats, if you watch the NYC there's gaps galore (Slaimankhel for example would never have seen such a tight defensive line in NYC) so this is a massive step up for these guys.
The great thing though is if we keep with all these guys they'll go from young players with a touch of naiivity but extreme talent to young guys with a future with experience with a load of talent.
