Massive breakthrough there.

The draw just drifted out from being a decent favourite, with an England victory now looking likely.

Let Swanny have 10 overs tomorrow with the old ball then take the new pill. If nothing comes of it you will still have Swann to pose a threat for a large part of the day again.

Also, whats with the tards criticising Strauss' declaration? Based on the current situation of the game id say he got it exactly right. That 140 run lead heading into tomorrow could prove crucial.

If Australia were just 50 runs behind right now id say the draw would be favourite but by still having a sizeable deficit England will still have a good 65-7o overs to bowl Australia out and chase down a small target.

There's a chance a lot of play tomorrow will be lost to bad weather

I was enjoying a serve of humble pie from Pup...a shame it ended late. There was definately some "grit" as I call it in what he was doing there today. Well done Clarke. Well played.

If there was a day in which North could make the country fall in love with him, tomorrow is it.

No pressure

lol

Sure, Australia might be just 50 runs behind, but with the extra time and overs, we might be also 5 or 6 down, god knows even worse considering there is nothing after Haddin and North is so out of touch its not funny

No problems if the forecast was for great weather, but its not. Very realistic we could lose the last session of play if not more. Something a positive captain would have had the balls to negate by being pro active

Buts its ok, the consesus amongst a lot of us is both captains are quite poor, captaining average sides

I was enjoying the humble pie being dished up by Pup, it's a damn shame he lost his wicket last ball of the day. The partnership with Hussey was vital. Oh well, he showed some grit that I was asking more of and I applaud him for a good innings. We needed more of it tomorrow, but it's good to see a return to form. Cue Ponting. Cue North.

x2, i hope that 40 mins is all the difference between an English win and a draw. They also wasted 2 overs in the change over.

Geez that was a gutsy knock by Katich today, the guy wouldnt have been able to plant his front foot properly with a bad achiles. I wonder if that is the last time we'll see him in the Australian side. Not the kind of injury to magically get better in 9 days, and the same injury that finished Hayden off.

Only an absolute feather touch as well.

Clarke batted very well, got out at the complete wrong time however. Havent seen the dismissal (cheers channel 9) but frustrating.

Hussey North and Haddin, your time is now.

Aust 9/415 tomorrow when rain stops play and stumps is called
Marcus North saves the day with a defiant 38 not out

Get him to sit on punters shoulders to lead the team song in the sheds, lots of back slaps and hugs all round throughout the night, get him well and truly pissed

Next morning at 6am when he is still in bed, with a massive hangover, tell him his name has been stamped never to play test cricket again
