I would make all test matches day nighters (the only argument against is a new red ball is a thing of beauty while a pink ball is...not).

Those dismissals of Brooke and Smith sum up the poms for mine. Zero footwork and just slash away outside off.

They may get away with that shit at County level, but that was shit on a good batting pitch.

Good Morning, Monty Panasar, where ever you are. Hiding under a rock would be my guess.

I laughed at the Indian media when they said the BGT will overtake the Ashes in significance but they might be onto something unfortunately....

A glimmer of hope for England.

They'll need to add 250 to their total with only 4 wickets in hand. Gives them something to bowl at.

Not as funny as it sounds

We had Starc and Boland bat for almost 2 sessions

You would expect Stokes to dig in (his wkt will be massive)

Wouldnt surprise me one or two of their bowlers get 50s..

GAME ON !!

The first session will be the best time to bat of course. The Ashes usually brings out a special moment from Stokes at some point.

And if they lose this test then the Ashes are probably gone. So every reason to see a big innings here.

Even better, this is one of the best.

They've just retreated so far up their own f**ken coights with this Bazball, saviours of cricket bullshit that they've actually neutered themselves.

It so much funnier

A fair assessment.

On paper it's decent side but they're a bunch of pea hearts.

Baz is a snake oil salesman who has willing participants like Ben Stokes who is an ultimate fart sniffer.

Injury prone bowlers like Joffra Archer who legit looked gassed and disinterested once they're made to bowl second and third spells.

Anyone out there think a Botham style effort is on the cards here from Stokesy boy?

Its up to Stokesy.

Honestly if he wants to do it then Bazball is actually required. They aren't going to slog out 3 sessions with 4 wickets in hand. The majority of the runs will need to come in the first session and a little more in the evening.

I'll be super positive for England's sake. A lead of 150 is defendable under lights. So if they can score 200 runs in the first two sessions they'll keep the game competitive.
