Looking at the highlights, England's bowling attack just look tired. I guess leaving early might freshen them up a bit. They'll have heavy legs after bowling a few more overs though. We should be able to leave them out there most of the day and put more wear on them. Hopefully rain stays away.

Short turn around between tests. Hopefully we win the toss next game and bat first for a couple of days.

“I think he has absolutely smashed it”

Reviews anyway.
He didn’t want to review and then he gave in, he was filthy. After that I think he’s just thought I’m not listening to Broad again today. It cost them when he refused to review Marnus when it was crashing into leg stump. The look on Broads face was delicious.

Not looking a happy camp, old tired bowlers being led by crazy Kiwis to an Ashes loss.

Anderson looks like he's every one of his 90 years. Plus he's sooking because he's not getting pitches thst suit him.
Knobinson is an unfit plodder who dogged it in Australia and is another sook when the conditions aren't right.
Broad also looks old in the field, still bowling ok.
Tongue looks sprightly.

Soo many better kiwi coaches than Baz, who’s a one trick pony, harder, faster, harder…

captain Dan is still in your group, I think?

Flem would make a great coach, I think

That non-review LBW where Marnus was out ended up with the right decision in my view. I’ve played cricket on an off for over 40 years and imo that misses leg stump. How can ball tracker show it stop swinging and smashing leg stump? Unrealistic in my experience.

Broad thinks every ball is out

The Pakis and Indians used to get into trouble for just running down the pitch screaming instead of actually appealing to the ump. Broad needs to be careful.

Mother England is unhappy with Bazball and the mean Aussies, so she’s struck out and given me severe manflu.

A problem is, I think, the extra pressure that comes with the Ashes. Earlier Bazball, including against us, involved better decisions with the bat, and of course we drew the series with them…. Some of the stuff here has been as brainless as you could imagine…. Reality is better decisions and they’re ahead, not that they’ll ever admit that. Australia have been solid, and there’s been some very fine batting, but England are just gifting it at times

England could really use a fit Archer. I was cheering when he missed selection because he has the ability to do what the rest of their attack cant.

McCullum was one of the most brain dead cricketers in the sports history. No idea why you'd base your teams whole philosophy around his thoughts

We can't throw too many stones our coach is a random Victorian bloodnut who played a couple of Tests because they were trying out every all rounder in the country in the hope one did something

Not sure about all that

IMO I think they tried to bully Aust in the first test, to set the tone. Really were the better side overall, so their tactics worked, just execution of important disciplines like wicket keeping and catching let them down from going 1-0 up

Now they are behind the 8 ball, be interesting to see if they still play the same way

Run rates were similar in this test first innigns, would suggest they have toned down. Maybe bullying a weakened Pakistan is looked as some sort of entertainment and moving forward, but when you have quality opposition like Oz ( and NZ with Williamson and decent bowling attack) you probably need to show some sort of respect, otherwise you will be losing tests regularly

PS Annoyed that Eng v NZ was only two tests
