Oh f**k me...we have to have the worst selectors in the history of the planet. Voges and Ferguson? Ferguson is promising, but only scored his first ever ton this season and hasn't been that great since. Voges isn't even the most qualified WACA.

Not to mention, who the hell is going to open? Clarke and Hussey are needed in the middle order and aren't really openers anyway despite being tried there, niether of the replacements have ever opened that I can think of, Hopes isn't an international opener IMO. Haddin is the best option and he's not been in excellent form and hasn't opened in years

Voges and Ferguson are averaging over 40 this season with Ferguson having a SR of over a 100. Voges overall OD stats have him averaging 46 so not the worst two to come in.

Yeah what's Phil Hughes have to do to get a start? Made 151 and 82 no in Newcastle and showed in the KFC Big Bash Final that he can score quickly. Also looks like Shaun Marsh is under an injury cloud after doing a hammy in the field yesterday.

I'd say Dave Hussey will get the arse and they need somebody who can bowl a few overs to come in and replace him.

Hopes does do a decent job opening for Queensland, so if he was to replace Marsh I wouldn't be too upset, put it this way, if he MUST be there I'd rather he open and support Warner than come in at the death and fail to find the boundary.

I dont suppose it would have anything to do with the fact he is averaging just 30 this year at a strike rate of 71 in the Ford Ranger Cup?

As for Marsh he is out of the squad
